Just a couple quick pics of retro 3.0. This will be the final revision. Just a few tweaks along with clear lenses as opposed to the smoked ones. Those pics will come later.

Hey, are those TSX projectors with the e46. How did you end up mounting them?

No Rich. Those are the same e46 projectors along with new e46 shrouds. What I did this time around was remove the foreground limiting shield, paint the facing part of the shield red, extend the e46 shrouds back with pieces of the old, beat to hell Crossfire shrouds, then painted the formerly black reflector with off the shelf "chrome" spray paint. I also enlarged the 9005 opening in the high beam reflector to take the 9006 HID bulbs I already have. Unfortunately, as of this posting, I'm at a standstill since I melted one of the clear lenses from the lights I got from Lex. Now I need to find a junkyard near me. I'm not exactly happy right now.

The lights are mounted and aimed up. After doing the short drive to aim them, it made me wonder why I ever went with smoked lenses to begin with. These 50 watt ballasts I have put out so much damn light, having HIDs in the high beam reflector would be overkill. Fuck it. What's wrong with over kill? Enough babbling. More pics!

I am thinking the same thing about my smoked lenses, they are off right now and I am running with 55watt 5000K hids in high, low and fog. SO MUCH BRIGHTER!!

i have 55w hids and i love them go overkill on high beams i tried it one night and was amaze at the light out put

Dude! I texted you about that when I cooked the lens! Never got a reply so I had to buy a new fucking assembly just for the lens.
Hell yeah the ghetto oven works. Each time I opened my lights up (which is too many times since first started the retro last October), that was the method I used. No access to a real oven that would take these damn assemblies.
I know man. Gotta bust your balls. Honestly, I wish I had the time to. This revision was easy since the retro was all done and aimed. A fresh retro would take me too much time and that's something I don't have right now. Maybe when I come back from overseas I can tackle it but I'm sure you'd probably get that done before that time. If you want a quick and painless retro, you really should check out those mini Morimoto H1 projectors I linked in the PnP HID thread. Wouldn't take you much time at all to throw those in.

The ghetto oven was key to make this happen. You have no idea how much crap I got from people when I first used the ghetto oven method. If it works, why change?

To think I've been driving around across the southern half of the U.S. with my lights aimed too high. I'm sure ALLLLL those people hated my ass.

looks good man!! Does painting the cut off shield change the output color of the lights at all? I cannot see it in the pics, but I didnt know if maybe you noticed a red hue to your light

None whatsoever. It may help sharpen up the cutoff some but all it does is give that colored eye effect.
