Title: Spark plug...
Post by: exelr8 on January 02, 2010, 08:29:55 PM
So Last night, I stared tearing into the KA24E in the 240 and I made a rather terrifying discovery... I pulled the spark plugs out, and I noticed there is some sort of gunk on the electrodes of 2 of them. It is a orange silicone-like substance that is sorta wet and not dry like silicone gets after it has been applied... Anyone know what this is, and what it indicates? Its a new one to me, I have never seen anything like it. Thanks in advance.

Could you post a pic of it so we can see what you're talking about?

LOL a picture might help. I've read that it can be cause by off the shelf fuel additives, and octane boosters. If you have communication with the previous owner you should ask them if they were added to the fuel.
