Title: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: Bobsk24 on December 10, 2009, 10:44:20 AM I am getting new tires soon. I have the TL type S wheels with the stock 235's. What is the best upgrade. I remember seeing somewhere 245/45 r17 . I was just making sure. Thanks all!
Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: CrackerTeg on December 10, 2009, 10:53:15 AM 235's are fine. You can run the 245's but it may throw your speedo off a bit.

Either size is fine....I prefer the 235 for the lower profile look. Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: MyNameIsThien on December 10, 2009, 08:01:28 PM 235/45 R17 = 25.4
245/45 R17 = 25.7 It depends on what your car comes with stock. If it came with the 205/60 R16, then the 245/45 R17 will not throw off your speedo, and you would be right where it would be at 25.7. If your car came equipped with either a 205/65 R15 or 215/50 R17, then the 235/45 R17 would be best to not throw off your speedo. Either size won't really throw your speedo. Not even a 1mph difference. If you are looking to use the tires for an all season purpose like in winter with snow, I would go with the 235/45 R17. The more narrow your tire, the better your car will track compared to a wider tire. Now, if you are looking into summer tires. I suggest going with the 245/45 R17. This size will 1 give you better traction since it is 10mm wider. The 245/45 R17 will give you better ride comfort. (Depending on tire makes and model) If you are looking for a lower profile, then the 235/45 R17 is the way to go. I hope this helps with your decision. 205/60 R16 = 25.7 215/50 R17 = 25.5 205/65 R15 = 25.5 Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: timot_one on December 10, 2009, 10:08:47 PM You're all pussies. 255/40/17 for more grip. Fuck sidewall height and your speedo being off.

I think folks are split 50/50 on whether 255 is a good choice. http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=595122 (http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=595122" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: Bobsk24 on December 11, 2009, 04:28:11 PM We dont really get much snow here in the 757, so Im not really worried about that. I think Im gonna go with the 245/45 r 17 . Has anyone ever heard of Nexxus (sp.?) tires?? I have never heard of them and from what i can find they are some kind of chinese tire. What do yall think about Falkens ?? thanks
Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: CrackerTeg on December 11, 2009, 04:41:06 PM Never heard of Nexxus so I can't comment. Falkens on the other hand I've had experience with and I can say I like them. Great tire for the money.

Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: CrackerTeg on December 11, 2009, 07:22:19 PM No prob Bob.
Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: MyNameIsThien on December 11, 2009, 08:35:33 PM I personally hate Falkens. Cheap, inferior tires. This is just my opinion. I've heard of Nexxus and Nexen. Both of those tires are Chinese made tires that are both cheap and poor in quality. Who am I to give advice on tires.

You're right Thien....who the hell are you to talk about tires?! :) Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: alpha on December 12, 2009, 12:52:10 PM The one set of Falken's I had (Azenis RT-615), I ended up not liking in the end. It was awesome after they got broken in a bit, but after they wore halfway down, they weren't fun to drive on anymore. They were awesome tires when they weren't too cold or too hot, and they were within a certain tread range. This is specific to the RT-615 though..
Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: fabulous010 on December 13, 2009, 10:31:30 AM nexen tires suck. i have them on my bbs fakes and they are pretty cheap. i wouldnt recommend them if you want a good gripping tire. and they are also noisy as fuck!
Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: Abailey4 on December 13, 2009, 04:32:39 PM ^+1 I had Falkens on my 04' Sentra and I sold the car not too long after I put them on so the only I can say that sucked about em was that they were loud as shit. I mean annoyingly loud to the point I had to turn the radio up even further than I usually have it so I could keep my sanity.

Contact Majestic Honda directly at 1.800.341.4113. Tell the parts guy you need a set of 4 gunmetal center caps for the Accord HFP wheels and a set of 4 chrome Honda Emblems for the center caps. the total cost with shipping should be roughly $60. They're website is hondaautomotiveparts.com. Good luck on the install and don't forget to post up the pics. Title: Re: What size tires for TL type S rims Post by: MyNameIsThien on May 30, 2010, 10:17:03 AM Check out the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport. They are strictly a summer tire, and they are offer a quiet ride along with great handling ability.
The Potenza RE760 Sport is Bridgestone's Ultra High Performance Summer tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans who want to maximize sport driving pleasure without abandoning treadwear. The Potenza RE760 Sport is designed to deliver sharp response along with traction in wet and dry conditions, however like all summer tires, the Potenza RE760 Sport is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. Bridgestone's UNI-T Technology focuses on three primary tire components - the beads, casing and tread - that influence overall performance by enhancing comfort, handling and traction. The Potenza RE760 Sport molds an ultra high performance tread compound into an asymmetric tread design with a 3D center block to enhance dry traction and cornering ability. NOTE: While initially appearing somewhat directional, the Potenza RE760 Sport tread design is only asymmetric, allowing tires to be mounted on either side of the vehicle. The tire's asymmetric internal structure includes a Computer Optimized Component System that combines two high-tensile steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to stabilize the tread area, enhance handling, high-speed capability and ride quality while minimizing weight. The tire's stiffer outer sidewall reinforcement enhances steering response and cornering stability.
