Title: Drivers side window going up and down slow
Post by: Mike on October 21, 2009, 09:35:02 AM
Just wondering if any or you have ever expirenced this. My driver side window is moving up and down alot slower than the passenger side. There is no noise, and it goes up and down perfectly but, the passenger side moves considerably faster.

I've noticed the same thing with my driver's side rear window. Motor starting to crap out? Couldn't tell you. The way I figure it, if it still works, fuck it.

If it's just slow then I wouldn't think it would be a regulator or the like. Most likely your motor is on it's last leg.

Probably won't. Such is the nature of the beast.

So something has to break before it will be replaced under warranty? What if, in your situation Mike, it's not working at full capacity. I would think that Honda should replace under warranty. Just a thought, or a brain fart.

Try using a little silicone lubricant spray on the plastic seals around the window.

The old Civic did this a lot.  If you ignore it, it may burn up the motor or go off track.

Yeah it's gotta all out break before they do anything as far as I know. And regulators and motors are usually only covered under the Bumper to Bumper. Do you have an extended Mike? Cuz Bumper to Bumper is 3/36...

My warranty is not through Honda. It's actually a piece of shit warranty but, they generally pay at least 1/2

Gotcha. Half is better than nothin! If something on my car goes out right now I'm assed out and have to fork over the full amount. Luckily I get a discount on parts but still...

Half is better than nothing but, the warranty was sold on the pretents that it covered  100% probably a battle i'll never win

i have this same problem and my father being the electrical and mechanical engineer took the motor apart and cleaned it out and greased it up. My motor stopped working all together befroe he did this. After he worked on it worked real fine. He told me that it might be the switch itself thats burning the motor out. With my case, the window would try to go up without me touching the switch while driving wiht the window all the way up.

I'd hit the track with shin-itsu grease first and then consider testing the window regulator.

My passenger window does this bad. It always makes it up, it just takes it's time. My windows also rattle, I dont know where it is coming from but it is really annoying. Im not sure what to do to fix that.

Simple solution. Roll your windows up, pick up a decent sized brick or rock, toss it through the window, no more rattles and great ventilation. Win win right there.

Seriously though, try lubing the tracks. Since you're in the south, your tracks and grease may have dried out prematurely. Give that a go for the slow up. As for the rattles, I haven't the slightest idea.

my switch on the passenger side is starting to act up..sometimes it goes up fine and i noticed when it rains is alot harder to put the the window up i would have to hit the switch up and down and slowly goes up..or sometimes i put all the windows down and the passenger side would roll up by its self.

I had this problem and I took it to the dealership. As soon as I brought it up, the tech said right away that they could not fix that problem. It seem to me he didn't even want to fix it because I was still under warranty.

I'd ask to speak to the service manager.

My driver side auto window when auto upping it gets to the top and automatically goes back down sometimes. LOL! I just never use the auto up feature.

LOL! It's wild and before Ashley would just sit there for like 5 minutes messing with it before she would get frustrated and just stop trying to auto-up it. I dont have the patience.
