Title: What steps to open headlights? Post by: Mike on September 03, 2009, 03:44:04 PM Any one have a detailed write up on opening up our headlights? How long to bake what temp. etc.

Pre-heat the oven to 250ยบ Turn the oven off Put the headlight in the oven for 5-7 minutes Remove and open headlights carefully Keep a low powered heat gun handy in case things start to cool down and the adhesive starts to set up Title: Re: What steps to open headlights? Post by: Mike on September 04, 2009, 11:33:23 AM Tim i'm going to follow your steps with the addition of a 6 pack. I have a passenger side headlight that is fogging up like crazy, and I have an extra set of lights. I'm going to open them black house put back together, and install. Any suggested steps for putting them back together. I think they have been apart before. Is there a special adhesive that I should buy to ensure no fogging.
Title: Re: What steps to open headlights? Post by: timot_one on September 04, 2009, 12:41:21 PM When you put them back together, follow the same oven steps. Use clamps around the edges of the headlights to get a better seal. I would put the clamps on before you place them back in the oven.

Post by: dizzle on September 06, 2009, 01:31:19 AM +2 on what everyone said, the sealant is still reusable. i suggest before clamping them that you make sure everything is even. i did mine with a heat gun but when i clamped everything up and started heating them up, the backside was sticking out but the lights were sealed nonetheless.
