The last several weeks I've met up with NYPOC, New York Prelude Owners Club. I came across these guys from my fellow co-worker and friend Stephen who was at one of our meets in Floyd Bennett Feild earlier this year (or late last year, I can't remember, lol).

These guys are cool and much like us Accord owners, they are a unique breed of auto enthusiasts (not ricers). Kevin (05accordV6) and Chino (latin2nr) already met some of the guys.

We are in the process of setting up this meet for Accords and Preludes.  This is going to be a multi-forum/club meet including the following:

Below is the info. Remember, the season is coming to a close and the weather will begin to suck, let's make this day a blast.

Yup, a few guys are thinking about meeting up and cruising together, but I haven't taken the liberty to set an exact address since I don't know if they'll let us into the school's parking lot. I might set up a different spot, and just make it my place, since I live about 5-7 minutes from the freeway and we could just have a bunch of Accords double parked on my block!

Steve I'll roll down with you from the RI area if I can make it out to this.

Rich, I have to work out the final details, but Gina and I had talked about making a full weekend out of this. coming down Friday night and leaving Sunday, but it depends on when she can get out of work. I am going to finalize plans this week and I will keep you updated.

I haven't heard from any other N. NECM members. I know Mike and Tim cannot make it, and I'm pretty sure Dave works Saturdays so he wont be able to go either. I put up something in the NECM thread the other day and Ill put up another to see if I can coax any other boys out of the wood work, but it looks like for right now ill be the only "outsider" coming down to this lol.

so im going to be coming down Friday for this meet and staying Friday night and Saturday night in the area with the lady. can you guys recommend some decent (not crazy $$) hotels in the area?

Try looking for something near the MacArthur airport aka ISP. There should be some decent ones around there and I can always roll by there on my way to the park if you want.

Looks to be a big deal if we're getting this type of coverage. I guess I have to get off my lazy ass and clean up my car. This last weekend's rain didn't really let me.

I don't know of ANY quarter washes near it. I know there's a bunch of those hand wash spots but usually its them washing it and they charge about $20.

Do you know the name of the place? Id go to a regular wash, but im pretty anal about letting people touch my car. It may not be the in the most pristine condition but I dont want it gettin any worse lol

You're like me Steve lol. That's actually a pro for me lowering my car. I'm forced to to go the hand wash car washes or wash it myself which is what I'll be doing Friday and them a wipe down when I get to the meet.

Steve just remember A good quick detailer can be your best friend after a long drive and a quarter wash.

That's what I had in mind to do Steve. A small caravan from your hotel to the meet would be cool.

Theres several meetup spots. Hooters nears St. John's University, Flushing Meadow Park (Lake), Gate 6 St. John's University.

Sunken Meadow? It's the lot actually closest to the park. After you pay the tolls, head straight till you see a childrens playground on the right hand side, right turn immediately at the next right, go down to the first parking lot you see. You can't miss it.

I've never in been to this location, so I wouldn't even know were to go other then how to get there. So if there is a spot were we all are going to meet can someone find out? Or better yet since were all wondering then maybe we should just pick a location were to meet up to roll out.      ..Just a thought..

Its pretty sad that the people I highlighted in red are the only ones that are bringing anything. We have absolutely no idea if any other attendees are bringing food. I am certatinly not bringing for everyone. If this is going to be the only stuff brought, I'm not going to bring shit to this or just nobody eats what is brought unless they brought something to contribute. Anyone care to chime in?

I'm pretty sure other people are bringing things. I already spent $50 on burgers hot dogs and buns to share with some people but I'm not even going now. Guess I have stuff to grill in my backyard for a bit. LOL. But I know people on DA are on that list that are bringing things, just that it's the threads are general and shit. I REALLY hope people don't cheap out and just bring plates and forks, cuz thats the cheapest shit you can buy. LOL.

That's all I'm really waiting on Billy before I go out and spend money. Worse comes to worse, only the people that bring stuff eat. I can't afford to feed everyone showing up. hey boys I completely agree with Z I am NOT bringing enough shit for everyone I went out and got enough plates, forks, knives and other shit you eat with, for our group (elite people) I dont plan on funding everyones (the 100+ 6th gens and preludes) free lunch. If they dont bring stuff, they dont eat plain and simple.

On a much happier note Gina just got here and I finished the work on my car (at 3am this morning....) and its detailed and packed and we will be heading out in ~15-20 min. If anyone needs me for some reason Billy, Z, Arie, Rich, and Hector all have my phone number so get it from them and hit me up. I will NOT have internet access all weekend.

Confirmed with my dad today, who use to work for NY State Park, that they do provide those small charcoal grills so someone should probably pick up some charcoal, lighter and lighter fluid.

I'm all set for the most part, just gotta stop at the grocery store in the morning. Can't wait for the next time the sun comes up....be safe on the roads guys.

hey boys I am alive. I stayed at the hotel again sat night so i didnt have any internet as I left my laptop at home. I got home late last night and after the little incident on the Bridgeport ferry all I wanted to do was have a few beers and pass out...

Gina and I had an awesome time. It was great meeting a whole bunch of new people and catching up with some old buddies. Arie SICK job on this meet I cant wait for the next one. I am ASTONISHED that you got the pics up before I even managed to log into the forum again. u feelin alright??

While getting on the ferry i was directed to go to the upper level insdie the ferry, ans as I started over the edge the guy directing me, directed me over a chalk block that i couldn't see, which stopped the car coming down the ramp. He had me back up and when i did the block wedged itself into my front passenger wheel well and instead of having me drive forward again slowly and catching the block as it fell from the wheel well he decided it would be a much better idea to hammer punch it out of the wheel well ripping the upper right mounting tab for the bumper in half and pulling that side of my bumper off of my car then just walked away....

I have some sweet blue tape holding it on right now and will be having a strong word with the ferry office this week.

Wtf... I would have spoken with someone that day dude! This way they can see the damage right then and there. That'ssome bullshit right there. Good luck with that though.

I did talk to the guys boss on the boat as well as used his tools to try and fix it while he was standing right there. He definitely knows it is broken and saw first hand the damage caused by his employee, and that "tightening the screw so that it put some good pressure on the tab" didn't hold it for shit.

He tried to tell me that the whole front just clipped back together and it wasn't a problem that the tab was ripped, but quickly changed his toon once I explained to him how I had put months and a shit ton of $$ into putting this entire front end together in my driveway, myself, and that it was not actually a "snap back together kinda deal" and that this front end wasn't even 2 months old...

Im hoping that I can JB weld together a new tab over the existing one and drill through that, but if not im going to be having the ferry company front the $$ so that I can buy a new 07 front bumper and have it paint matched again

Dam Steve, that sucks. I'm sure the ferry company is insured or has insurance for these type of things. So even if you do happen to ghetto rig something temporary, still get them to replace it since they was at fault.

Get the new bumper and you can alwayz work some magic on the damaged one a sell it off on the forum to someone who wants to do the conversion...
