I bought the headlights smoked, I originally bought a pair off of Lavalleemike, but in trying to remove some of the chippin tint I ruined the lenses so I bought another pair off of ebay.

why didn't you  just hide the kenwood navigation brain? its not like you need to access it. never seen someone do both dash kits though lol. but jesus, those headlights, u wanna rear end someone dont u?

Title: Re: [Profile] Lemonjelly **UPDATED PICS ADDED**
Post by: Lemonjelly on August 31, 2009, 11:14:08 AM
I thought about hiding the brain, but chose to put it in the glove box because if I ever want to be able to update the maps in it, I can just unplug it and pop it out. There is a usb plug in the back of it so you can connect it to the computer and put updated maps on it.

There are a few guys here who are running both dash kits. I chose to run them both because I really wanted a center channel speaker and didn't feel like hacking away the upper has piece to mount a speaker in that like Tim lol

The lights actually have great output. Believe it or not, these are the same lights Arie has on his car, they just appear to be a TON darker because when I did the retrofit I blacked out halogen reflector housing as well as the trim piece that houses the blinker...

I was a lil nervous at first, thought they might be too dark but once the lights are on its like the lenses arent even smoked. Also helps that i have 5000K hids in the fogs lol

Im up in the air right now with what I want. I am looking at the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track as well as an E46 M3, but I am in no rush to get something, and I am open to all suggestions. Im also keeping my eyes out for my dream car, MKIV Supra, but chances of me picking up one of those is pretty slim.

Rich, I have been fixing shit on my car since September when the clutch master and slave cylinder shit the bed. After that it was my clutch in December, then my mechanic didnt put the car back together after the clutch install and the suspension came apart while driving on Christmas day trashing the passenger side axle, upper and lower ball joints, fender, rocker panel, wheel and strut top bushing. After that i had to replace the other lower ball joint because my mechanic screwed that one up as well during the clutch install. then it was rear main seal, crank pulley, VTEC gasket, valve cover gasket, and got a bunch of paint work done on the car while it was getting the fender and rocker panel replaced. Right after that my roommate drove into the car 5 times (same side I just had repainted) in the driveway while trying to leave one day and denied it sticking me with the bill for that. THEN the front wheel bearings went along with the rear passenger side upper control arm. After all that I had just had enough and couldnt deal with anything else so I bought my parents old minivan for $9.00 and 4 beers and sold the accord. My plan is to keep that as my DD and pick up something else for a fun car when I find the right one.

BRZ is fun to drive took one for a ride the other day at Anchor Subaru only issue is that there arent alot of them around so they will not work on price at all. 9.00 and four beers sounds like one hell of a deal for a van. Cheaper than a bike really!

Yea, Im pretty sure that car was cursed, just couldnt catch a break.

I was at the Wicked Big Subaru Meet a few weeks ago and they had some BRZ's there and I really liked the way they looked, but the inside was just to small for me. Plus I want something with a little more performance out of the box 200hp isnt bad but both the Genesis Coupe and the M3 have 300+ and are about the same price.

I would highly recommend the Genesis, I have a couple friends who have them and they are amazing cars.  Lots of good looking and performance mods as well.  Still sux to get rid of the Accord, but with all of that I don't think I could blame you one bit.

I would get the Genesis. I never bothered to look at them, and still didn't think they looked nice till I saw a white one at the car wash. It was amazing and sounded great (was the 2.0T though).

Steve, you suck. You should've come to the last meet as it was a usual NECM/NYCM drunk fest/ cruise/ welcome me back to the NE. Instead, you decided to sell your car rather than cruise with it one last time. Either way, that sucks that you had such a string of bad luck with her. Hopefully your next ride isn't plagued with the same shit. Know how to get rid of some of those? Find a roommate that won't back into your shit so many times.

Title: Re: [Profile] Lemonjelly
Post by: Lemonjelly on June 27, 2012, 08:46:20 AM
Trust me Z I would have loved to be at the cruise, even if I hadn't sold my car I wouldn't have been able to make it though. One of my buddies proposed to his GF on sat and a different friend had his bachelor party sat night and Sunday. Def let me know the next time there is something going on and I will either grab a ride with one of the NECM member heading down or roll down in my bitching 2000 Toyota Sienna....... :-[

Im hoping my next car isn't plagued with all the problems the accord was as well. I am not going back to the mechanic who fucked everything up and I moved out of the place I was living so that SHOULD alleviate 99% of my problems right there. I am also planning on renting some private garage space close to my apartment once I get a new car so I can keep it in there so I wont have to worry about people driving into it, opening doors into it, or anything else ass hats do.

On a different note I do have some accord things left over. If anyone is interested I have the OEM accod radio and a set of ingalls font camber kits, not looking to make any $$ on them just pay shipping.

I am looking at the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track as well as an E46 M3
both the Genesis Coupe and the M3 have 300+ and are about the same price.

A new 2012 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track MSRP's for about $31k.  If you're paying anywhere near that amount for an e46 M3, you're paying too much for it.

The e46 M3 is a fantastic car (interior is dated though), but I wouldn't expect it to be trouble free; it won't have a warranty either.  If you're OK with the maintenance costs and any costs that are associated with repair due to its age, then its a great car.  Fun to drive too!

I've been looking at CPO (certified pre owned) M3's and those come with a 2 year warranty and the ability to buy an extra 2 years, costs around $1200, which I would do because that would cover their Inspection 1(@30K) and 2(@ 50K) (each runs about $1200) It would also certify that the sub frame recall was taken care of as well as the emissions recalls they have had. I believe it also covers oil changes.

I would love to go the Genesis Coupe route as they are great little cars with awesome aftermarket support and fantastic warranties but I want a very particular model, 2012 3.8 Track 6MT in karussell white which so far has been impossible to find. I have spoken with almost every Hyundai dealership in MA, NH, and some of the dealerships in RI, CT and ME and no one has that car and its not possible to order it anymore. Every dealership has moved onto the 2013's which are HIDEOUS.

Z, Ive been trying to get Mike out to events for a while. Unless we have them in his home town its pretty tough to get him to roll out

We have never had an event in my home town ass!!! I'd be glad to give you the low down on why I can't make a lot of these but, I'm sure non of you care. I actully had full intentions of coming to the last one. Had the day off and everything just so happned to hit a rock with a boat that I don't own, and the owner needed it for this weekend so it had to be fixed while I was there. Anyone who has ever delt with boat repairs can tell you how that goes.

Its all good man. I've dealt with boat repairs and I know full well how they're not fun. My first four years in I was a nautical grease monkey before going into electronics. Its just funny how we got you going though.

C'mon Mike you know im just busting your chops. The meet I was referring to was the Hooters meet in RI.

Sucks about the boat though, did you get everything fixed?

Title: Re: [Profile] Lemonjelly
Post by: Mike on June 27, 2012, 12:37:23 PM
Yeah It's all set I paid someone to fix it but had to be there to tow it back to the cabin. Hooters was a good time. I've been to a few out at Tim's old place (sold some asshole a pair of headlights), and out to goddard park. I guess I do stay somewhat local... My apologies I should make more of an effort to get out to some of these. Problem is that I don't have a whole lot of time available. I work about 65 - 70 hours a week between two jobs, and only see the wifeish a couple of days a week. Sunday I pretty much spend with her because it is the only day that we are both off... Well I'm off after noon but, thats about the most time off I ever get in a day.

Thats good you got the boat fixed! No apologies necessary Mike, I think everyone here understand life gets in the way really easily. I myself have only made it to maybe 3 meets in the past 2 years.

I forgot about the meet where you sold that asshole some lights. Did I ever tell you that that asshole managed to melt one of the lenses on those lights while trying to correct some of the peeling tint? NEVER use Goo Gone EXTREME on plastic  ::)

I would love to go Dave but the GF has claimed that weekend for her and I and I cannot cancel on her if I want to keep her around. I don't think we have spent a weekend together in close to 2 months. Are there any meets in August? I am gone the weekend of the 18th, but other then that I should be free the rest of the month.

We've heard this before. Next thing you know, a boat engine will blow up, his car won't start, the cab he was taking catches a flat, his friend who was going to pick him up gets sick and then the soles of his shoes would fall off rendering him completely unable to go.

What if I wanted to come to this? Wouldn't the dinner move especially if Nelson wanted to come? And if that were the case, will Mike be making it?

So entering all of our cities into this

It's kind of funny where it ends up... Try it out. Woonsocket RI, New London CT, Pawtucket RI, and Arlington MA
