Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: skizot on August 01, 2009, 06:27:18 AM The white looks nice for sure, but WTF is the deal with whoever did this not masking off the engine bay correctly? Why do you have all that overspray inside the engine compartment, why would they have not taken those plastic pieces off and masked things off better, why are your mirrors still silver, why, why!?!?!
You know how I am, I like to have, no I need to have my engine bays looking great. I would be taking it back to them and asking, WTF, unless of course they are already taking care of it for you? Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: Mike on August 01, 2009, 08:36:11 AM I didn't even notice Scott your anal lol!!! Car looks beautiful.

Post by: wtcii on August 01, 2009, 10:20:24 AM Is that the same car? I thought you had an 03? Regardless, it looks very nice! What type of transmission did you end up going with?
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: slipkord on August 01, 2009, 10:28:35 AM Bill, its the same car ('03). He just got it painted white.
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: wtcii on August 01, 2009, 10:53:45 AM Has he always had the 7.5 rear conversion?
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: timot_one on August 01, 2009, 10:59:47 AM It's the 03 rear bumper with aftermarket LED tail lights and an 06-07 rear lip.
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: lilmalu on August 01, 2009, 11:03:34 AM This is pretty sick. And I thought you were going to get rid of the Accord. I love it.
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: unclejud49348 on August 01, 2009, 12:50:34 PM Very purdy! Glad to hear that you didn't get rid of it. I'm still loving the light and dark color scheme
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: Paulius005 on August 01, 2009, 06:59:58 PM Wait, I was just looking at the pics and saw over spray and the plastic, what's up with that?
Edit: I guess I should have read the thread before asking, since others already have :/. Looks great, I am just wondering what was repainted Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: ROLO on August 01, 2009, 07:48:33 PM looks excellent !! Props JDM Guru.
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: MyNameIsThien on August 01, 2009, 08:17:11 PM The overspray was due to the painter. He sucked at painting, but outside came out alright. I'm really not satisfied with it, and yes, he did suck at masking off the car. The reason the mirrors are still silver is because the painter did not want to remove them since the wires are soldered together and not plugged in. I will be taking the mirrors off shortly to have them painted. I will be going back in 3 weeks for the painter to fix everything.
As for the whole transmission issue, it was never broken. Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: slipkord on August 01, 2009, 08:19:28 PM LOL....evil man....pure evil. Now I want to know what Tim's secret is.
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: lilmalu on August 01, 2009, 10:45:24 PM Damn Thien, you pulled it off nicely. What's next for the CM?

I would raise hell and have them PAY to replace all those pieces. I would never accept a job like that. I am not trying to be a dick, but you are entitled to certain benefits when paying thousands of dollars to have a car painted and one of them is that they mask shit off the right way. I mean seriously, it is not even my car and it is bugging the shit out of me that they treated it like a drive through paint service. UGH! Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: Abailey4 on August 02, 2009, 12:24:17 PM ^Thien doesnt seem to be one to accept shoddy work so I'm guessin the price must have been really hooked up that he would take delivery with all those issues. However he did say he was goin back to have everything taken care of though.
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: MyNameIsThien on August 02, 2009, 12:50:18 PM Yeah, I am going back to have the guy fix everything, and I really only paid $600 to get it painted. He has had my car for 2 weeks, and I really need the car back. So, I just said whatever and paid him. I told him I will be back to have him wetsand and buff all the imperfections on it as well as clean on the all the crap work he did.
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: Abailey4 on August 02, 2009, 12:57:45 PM Yeahhhhh, $600! My body shop giving me the hook up is chargin $1k to spray my front end! So at any point are you going to get all the jams and engine bay done too?
Title: Re: Out With The Old Accord, In With The New......... Post by: MyNameIsThien on August 02, 2009, 01:03:55 PM No engine bay, but I will be doing the jams later on. I just needed my car back.

Post by: Blackhawk on August 03, 2009, 09:34:23 AM I have always loved how our cars looked in white. Would I have fixed the bumper issue while it was in the body shop and knock out two birds with one stone? Yes. However that's me :). Props on the color change. Get the masking problems worked out and the mirrors paint-matched so it can look complete.
