What do you guys think about the car.
I know its old news already, and they're being sold. But Do ya'll think it has potential.

With companies like HKS and AMS building their own cars and putting some parts into production already, I think it's a pretty interesting car to look at. with the RWD drivetrain and the option of a v6 or a turbo.

I think it has a bit of potential but, would wait to see how much after market support it gains.

Their already drifting them, so theres some potential. In one of my Popular Mechanics mags they pinned the Genesis against the G37. The Genesis is basically an unpolished version of the G37. I actually like the Genesis alot. Have you seen the vid of the yellow (not sure if turbo or V6 version) ripping it around a track? Might be on youtube.

HKS has an intercooler/exhaust for sale for the car already.
and AMS is still working on their car. But they're doing there's a little slower. I know they plan on improving the intercooler size/exhaust. THey're also close to finishing their prototype turbo upgrade.

Seth are you thinking about getting it because its a Korean made car? HAHAHAHAHA

All and all, its still a Hyundai.

To me, the Hyundai Gensis Coupe is just another hype like the Scion tC. Everyone raved about it and then it died.

I agree to a point but, the TC has a camry motor and the Genesis makes decent power. Also it's RWD which sets it apart from the rest of the "imports"

I don't like it.  It's ugly and it's a Hyundai.  Sure, kids will hook it up, but I don't think it has much potential.  Keep in mind that the K24 and J30 Accords didn't have much potential at first either.

I don't like it because its a Hyundai. Now, as far as upgradability, the 2.0T should have quite a bit of potential. To start with, it has the 4B11 under the hood. Same engine as the Evo X. There's quite a bit of tuners jumping at this vehicle because of it being the new age Sylvia. At least, that's my opinion. Still, its a fucking Hyundai!

This would be my second car if anything but ill go with 3.8 v6 so much power i wont need turbo

Something tells me that I would take the EVO X motor over the Hyundai V6. I think if tastefully modded the EVO motor would probably destroy that V6.

Hyundai's are actually getting alot better than where they were. Honestly, their good/reliable cars now. I like this new Genesis, looks like a carbon copy G37. Plus the V6 has 306HP....I'd drive it over an accord anyday.

i know the 2.0t can be built up pretty good but i rather see a v6 built up with a turbo the results would be amazing

Hyundai IS coming up in the ranks. Anyone that denies that is just not seeing what is going on or a dyed in the wool Honda fanboy. They have come a long way in a short time and a manufacturer to be reckoned with. They have a very bright future.
