Title: OIL FILTER Post by: bigroy on July 17, 2009, 02:31:06 AM whats up yall been out of commission for a minute but since I'm back have a quick question what preference do you guys have when it comes to oil filter selection I currently use the s2000 filter just wondering if there are better alternatives
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: k24low20z on July 17, 2009, 02:43:54 AM i use the k&n replacement oil filter for the accords...why are you using the s2000 oil filter?
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: bigroy on July 17, 2009, 02:58:18 AM i read somewhere that it is a much better quality filter than most you can purchase for the k24
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 17, 2009, 03:01:31 AM Right now I'm using some cheapo walmart brand filter, lol. The next time I need to replace it, I'm getting the K&N filter off Amazon for 10 bucks.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: thisaznboi88 on July 17, 2009, 08:26:26 AM i got the bosch one from auto zone. They are as good and maybe even better then mobile 1 right now. The STP are okay but the seem really really small, even smaller then the honda one.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 17, 2009, 12:48:40 PM Has anyone noticed any kind of gains with the K&N oil filter?
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: CrackerTeg on July 17, 2009, 02:25:36 PM Your not going to notice any gains from an oil filter Jeff. Some just filter better than others. That's all.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Mike on July 17, 2009, 02:41:48 PM I use the Mobil one. I forget the name of it but, it's the best one my local shit zone carries

Cant remember what the actual conclusion was though. I just use either Napa gold or M1 whenever I'm at walmart picking up oil. Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 17, 2009, 07:12:14 PM I knew it! K&N doesn't claim guaranteed horsepower for nothing! With that extra 20hp, and the extra 10 I got from my iVTEC decals, I'll be smoking everyone away!
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: CrackerTeg on July 17, 2009, 07:14:39 PM I knew I must've been doing something wrong. That explains why Piero's car is so smoking fast.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: thisaznboi88 on July 17, 2009, 07:52:14 PM yeah I was the one that posted the oil filter comparison. The material for Mobile 1, STP, and bosch are the same.
Found it http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/old_filters.shtml (http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/old_filters.shtml) Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Abailey4 on July 17, 2009, 09:58:20 PM ^Not sure if filter technology has changed lately but that article is from about 8 years ago.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: thisaznboi88 on July 17, 2009, 11:23:47 PM mobile 1 filter has gotten a lot worst.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: cna on July 17, 2009, 11:59:23 PM i use to like Fram Extended Guard but now am a K&N guy or what ever the oil changing place has
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: MyNameIsThien on July 18, 2009, 01:50:28 AM Honda is what I use. The Filtech one.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: wtcii on July 18, 2009, 03:22:03 AM I use a Bosch when I change it and they always use a Honda brand when the dealer changes it.

Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: clapton924 on July 19, 2009, 08:04:56 PM I used to use Mobil M1-110....as of late I have been using Honda OEM.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Skippy on July 20, 2009, 05:08:19 PM I've only ever used honda OEM filters except for two times when I first got the car, I used two fram oil filters before going back to Honda OEM.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: InFuMoUs on July 20, 2009, 08:49:08 PM I use nothing but OEM. I think I got one M1-110 tho when they had a sale with the oil, but haven't used it yet.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: slipkord on July 20, 2009, 08:52:38 PM Going to Honda now to get my oil changed. OEM ftw
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: clapton924 on July 21, 2009, 11:35:36 PM The M1-110 is a good filter...but its twice the price of a OEM filter. Not worth it IMO
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: InFuMoUs on July 23, 2009, 11:05:03 PM True the price for the M1-110 filter is up there, but if your lucky you can sometimes get one free when they have those buy 5qts of synthetic and get a free filter sale at Advance or Autozone for around 25 to 30 bucks.
