Title: OIL FILTER Post by: bigroy on July 16, 2009, 10:31:06 PM whats up yall been out of commission for a minute but since I'm back have a quick question what preference do you guys have when it comes to oil filter selection I currently use the s2000 filter just wondering if there are better alternatives
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: k24low20z on July 16, 2009, 10:43:54 PM i use the k&n replacement oil filter for the accords...why are you using the s2000 oil filter?
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: bigroy on July 16, 2009, 10:58:18 PM i read somewhere that it is a much better quality filter than most you can purchase for the k24
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 16, 2009, 11:01:31 PM Right now I'm using some cheapo walmart brand filter, lol. The next time I need to replace it, I'm getting the K&N filter off Amazon for 10 bucks.

Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 17, 2009, 08:48:40 AM Has anyone noticed any kind of gains with the K&N oil filter?
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: CrackerTeg on July 17, 2009, 10:25:36 AM Your not going to notice any gains from an oil filter Jeff. Some just filter better than others. That's all.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Mike on July 17, 2009, 10:41:48 AM I use the Mobil one. I forget the name of it but, it's the best one my local shit zone carries

Cant remember what the actual conclusion was though. I just use either Napa gold or M1 whenever I'm at walmart picking up oil. Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 17, 2009, 03:12:14 PM I knew it! K&N doesn't claim guaranteed horsepower for nothing! With that extra 20hp, and the extra 10 I got from my iVTEC decals, I'll be smoking everyone away!

Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: thisaznboi88 on July 17, 2009, 03:52:14 PM yeah I was the one that posted the oil filter comparison. The material for Mobile 1, STP, and bosch are the same.
Found it http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/old_filters.shtml (http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/old_filters.shtml) Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Abailey4 on July 17, 2009, 05:58:20 PM ^Not sure if filter technology has changed lately but that article is from about 8 years ago.

Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: Skippy on July 20, 2009, 01:08:19 PM I've only ever used honda OEM filters except for two times when I first got the car, I used two fram oil filters before going back to Honda OEM.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: InFuMoUs on July 20, 2009, 04:49:08 PM I use nothing but OEM. I think I got one M1-110 tho when they had a sale with the oil, but haven't used it yet.
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: slipkord on July 20, 2009, 04:52:38 PM Going to Honda now to get my oil changed. OEM ftw
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: clapton924 on July 21, 2009, 07:35:36 PM The M1-110 is a good filter...but its twice the price of a OEM filter. Not worth it IMO
Title: Re: OIL FILTER Post by: InFuMoUs on July 23, 2009, 07:05:03 PM True the price for the M1-110 filter is up there, but if your lucky you can sometimes get one free when they have those buy 5qts of synthetic and get a free filter sale at Advance or Autozone for around 25 to 30 bucks.
