Title: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 10, 2009, 01:05:51 PM Basically, I was driving around last night and this guy thought I was fucking with his friend's house which I wasn't. He started to tail me and followed me for over 5 miles. He then passed me and slowed down to try to stop me in the middle of the road. I got scared and went around him and tried to get away from him at which point he passed me again and slammed on his brakes and I tried to go around him in the opposite lane but he turned into the other lane and we collided. My passenger side front was smashed so my bumper is broken, the hood is smashed a bit, and the right front fender is broken too. On his car, the driver door and front fender was smashed in pretty badly and the wheel and axle were bent. This all could have been avoided if I had stopped and tried to talk to him or if I had pulled in somewhere that I could get help. However, being scared I never thought about that. From the road evidence, the cops are putting me at fault so I will have to get a lawyer. Sorry I dont have any pictures at the moment but I'll try to go look at the car today.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 10, 2009, 01:13:27 PM Wow, what a fucking doucebag. I would have kicked his ass once you both stopped.
Did he at least stop, or was it a hit and run? Wow, just thinking about this pisses me off. If someone intentionally messed with my car, they'd be dead. Sorry to hear about that. From what it sounds like, he took the blunt of the hit. Too bad the driver door on his car didn't smash in enough to punch him in the side. ![]() Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 10, 2009, 01:28:32 PM Well he atleast stopped. His car wasn't driveable so he couldn't really get anywhere. I was pretty pissed and scared when I got out of the car. Atleast I was uninjured. Hopefully I can get this all sorted out so that it isn't a criminal charge on me of wreckless driving. That'll probably be the charge and then I'll have to get a good lawyer to fight the case.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: slipkord on July 10, 2009, 02:35:22 PM Nobody else saw this? Did the cops not believe your story? What was the other guys story, do you know?
That sucks man, def get a laywer. Hope it all works out ok. Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 10, 2009, 02:53:42 PM Hah, I was just thinking about the future and its technology... you know what'd be cool? If lawyers could play back what happened that night through your mind, like a camcorder!

Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: dizzle on July 11, 2009, 12:21:10 AM dude thats some fucked up shit. where did this happen? around bellevue? and what made the guy believe you were dickin around with his friends house?
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 11, 2009, 12:21:41 AM The car looks like it might be totaled but we'll see. I'll post pictures after my baseball tournement. The police don't believe my story so we'll see what we can do.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 11, 2009, 12:24:34 AM I was just driving slowly through the neighborhood and his friend's dad had described a dark blue coupe

One thing that scares me is that he could have pulled out a knife or a gun. You never know these days with the economy being so bad and that they would do anything. I always hate getting into the heat of the moment unless it benefits me
![]() Did the other driver get a wake up call after you guys collided or was he still in shock? Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 11, 2009, 12:02:04 PM He was still in shock. And the cops didn't understand how scary it is to have someone following you for atleast 5 miles and not knowing if they're armed.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: fabulous010 on July 12, 2009, 10:00:27 AM thats fucked up! imagine that... your just chillin out and some guy comes out and just fucks up your whole day. i might have to carry around a cam corder too. people do fucked up things. for now i just carry my louie...

Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: another_person on July 12, 2009, 12:06:43 PM That really really sucks man...The Mucklestone family is really good for anything traffic related if you need a lawyer, and they'll generally talk to you for free if you want to. But you don't have to really worry about lawyers until you have a ticket in hand or you're charged with anything. When you're in situations like this though, cops always tell you that you're suppose to just call 911. It kinda sounds like they're trying to push street racing gone bad on you since you were in the opposite lane and there was an accident.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 12, 2009, 10:52:57 PM Thanks for all the support guys. The shop or insurance company is gonna call tomorrow to tell us if the car is totaled or not. Here's some pictures of the aftermath.

They still have to look at the blackbox I think. Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 12, 2009, 11:15:52 PM Ouch. Looks to me like it's repairable, though. Now if you're engine became your new dashboard, that might be a different story...
![]() Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 12, 2009, 11:53:39 PM Well it all depends on how much the car is worth or would be worth and if anything happened to the axle or frame. I'll let you guys know when I find out
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: dizzle on July 13, 2009, 12:17:05 AM good luck with everything. its a damn shame that i just saw you couple months ago and what not. it does look repairable but i guess thats just from the outside.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: another_person on July 13, 2009, 01:23:05 AM yea, like everyone else has said, it all looks repairable, but whether the insurance company is willing to pay to have it repaired or if they're just gonna total it...idonno...off the top of my head, that easily looks like atleast 5k in repairs, so it might be a tough call for your car.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 13, 2009, 02:00:53 AM Ya probably more than $5000. I guess if they total it it won't be too bad since Honda of Bellevue has an '07 that's exactly the same as mine but with less miles or I could upgrade to a manual
![]() Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: thisaznboi88 on July 13, 2009, 03:55:06 AM NOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why!!!! YOu should have just vtak his ass n out run him But sorry for your lost.

Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: slipkord on July 13, 2009, 07:19:27 PM What a loss man, that sucks. Those pics make me cringe. Hope it all turns out ok.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 13, 2009, 11:21:59 PM So the body shop called today and said that just on the outside its about $12k to repair. They haven't even looked on the inside to see if anything else needs fixing. So now insurance has to decide if they'll total it or not but they probably will. It really pisses me off that he would be so immature as to follow a car and try to stop it with his own car just to see if I had been fucking with someones house. Now we have to wait for the charges or ticket and then get a lawyer to fight the case.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: dizzle on July 13, 2009, 11:46:08 PM wow 12k for repair. i think you might be better off getting another car.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 13, 2009, 11:54:26 PM Ya. I might go for another 06-07 coupe but a manual this time. Maybe a small fire arm too for good measure lol

Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: Philly Steve on July 14, 2009, 07:52:18 AM Quote from: "thisaznboi88" NOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why!!!! YOu should have just vtak his ass n out run him But sorry for your lost. Yeah, you should have worsened an already very dangerous situation by street racing...what a horrible idea. I had something similar happen to me once. Some guy in a riced out civic was revving his engine and shit trying to race at a red light. I laughed at him and then he started tailgating me like a motherfucker for a mile or two. I flashed my reverse light switch at him, and he thought I was actually about to reverse into him apparently. His passenger got out of the car at the next light and started screaming some shit like "its cool to race man, its not cool to reverse!" I sat there and should have called the cops, but you're right, in the heat of the moment it's hard to think straight. I just waited for the guy to try to open a door or break a window and then he woulda got pepper sprayed. He ended up getting back in and driving away. Crazy passenger, crazy driver, or both, I dunno. But anyone who thinks street racing is cool obviously doesn't value their life very much. Sorry to hear that this happened. Should have driven to a public place or even better a police station. I know how you feel, I feared for my life when that dude was following me and when you feel like that your car becomes second priority. Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 14, 2009, 07:59:47 AM Whoa, that's a cool idea for hooking up your reverse lights. I need to do that, because everyone here in FL tailgates, lol. I also see a riced out civic almost every day.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: Philly Steve on July 14, 2009, 08:09:44 AM It comes in handy but I find it's better to just flash them at people then make it look like you're in reverse, to avoid situations like mine. But sometimes I leave them on long enough to see just how close they are in my rear cam.
People seriously have issues with tailgating and turn signals in Florida. Every day I see a cop not use a turn signal. I want to follow them and record just how many times they do it one day. I know they're probably on their laptop or some shit ![]() Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: slipkord on July 14, 2009, 08:39:02 AM I dont remember the full story but next time some dude is tailing you dial 911 IMMEADITLY. That would give you alot of leverage down the road if it goes to court.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: another_person on July 14, 2009, 12:01:49 PM Quote from: "slipkord" I dont remember the full story but next time some dude is tailing you dial 911 IMMEADITLY. That would give you alot of leverage down the road if it goes to court. +1 911 calls are logged and any record of it is just more help to you in court. Being able to turn the reverse lights on independent of actually reversing is good and bad. I have mine hooked up to interplay with my turnsignals and it strobes, so that could kinda be considered impersonating a cop or an equipment failure, so either or. It really does make tailgaters back up though, but afterwards, they try and pass you to get a closer look and they may or may not just drop back righ behind you. 911 really is your best bet though. J/K Did it get any of the drive train, or is that 12k purely body work? Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 14, 2009, 12:44:03 PM I'm not sure if it got any of the drivetrain. The car still ran and was driveable if the front bumper was removed but stuff in there still could have been damaged from the shock. I think the $12k is purely body work. Next time I'll for sure call the cops and try to pull into a public place or a police or fire station.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: v6sicksspeed on July 14, 2009, 03:21:25 PM damn that sucks dude. some punkass did this to me once when i was in the car with my friend and coincidentally we were down the block from the po-po station. we just pulled in to the parking lot and he took off - hah
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 15, 2009, 12:59:21 PM So the car is totaled mostly because of the body work and repacking airbags. But I also learned from a guy down at Honda that all of the wiring is in the subframe in the front of the car which is why Honda doesn't have many electrical problems. However, if you get in a front end collision, your car will most likely be totaled because if the wiring is damaged, it costs a shit load of money to rewire everything and it isnt worth it. Anyways, we're looking at new cars now. I got to test drive a brand new Civic Si coupe 6 speed yesterday, it was pretty fun but I think I still really want a 7.5 gen Accord. So I found a very nice white one with ivory leather interior, 21000 miles, and a 5 speed manual. I'll probably go look at that one tomorrow or something so I might end up with that one. Let me know what you guys think, and don't any of you go out and buy this before me! http://www.bobhallhonda.com/used-invent ... story=true (http://www.bobhallhonda.com/used-inventory/vehicle-details.htm?vehicleId=23429eaa7f0000010081d783e9f10a8e&useHistory=true)
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: dizzle on July 15, 2009, 08:32:40 PM wow for 15k? thats a pretty good deal. looks nice too. i could picture it with gold wheels =)
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 15, 2009, 08:45:29 PM Haha ya. I'm thinking either a white and gold color scheme or a white and black. We're gonna go look at that one tomorrow and if we get it, I'll probably start off with tinting the windows, powdercoating the rims black, painting the grille black, and removing the intake resonator. Hopefully you guys will see me rollin around in a new CM soon!
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: dizzle on July 15, 2009, 09:00:29 PM take some pics when you get your tints. im curious if your going with like 20% or even 15%, since the interior is lighter, just like mine and im wanting to get my windows tinted.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 15, 2009, 09:31:16 PM Well the one you saw was 15%. That I could still see through during the day time so I'm kind of leaning towards 5-10% on the sides and 15% in the rear. If I get that one I'll deffinitely take pics of it but why not just organize a meet too? Lol. I think for you, you should get 15%. It's a little darker than 20% and you can see alright at night. I don't think there's much difference between the 2 so why not just go darker. Just make sure that you have them change your window sills to felt because I had problems with the ceramic sills scratching the tints.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: dizzle on July 15, 2009, 10:15:00 PM lol if we plannin a meet for tinting, we should talk about that in our NW thread. where you getting them done at?
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 15, 2009, 10:42:26 PM I'll post that info in the NW thread. Hopefully I'll get that white Accord. At first I thought it was a little weird but now it's like an urge to get it as a replacement
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: another_person on July 15, 2009, 11:47:41 PM you're not seriously gonna go to yakima to check out that car are you?? That really far to go unless you're forsure gonna get it. 20% is still good if you don't have a sunroof. My windows are 20% and they're pretty hard to see in to, they're dark enought to get yelled at by a cop, but apparently not enough to get ticketed fore.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 15, 2009, 11:53:04 PM Well we're almost 100% sure that we'll get this car. I had 15% on my SBP coupe with black interior and I could still see into it. I had 15% for a year and never got stopped for it or questioned about it by a cop. So I might just go darker or keep the 15%. We'll see
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on July 16, 2009, 09:28:11 AM I've got 15% on the rears, and it's pretty dark, but it's nothing extreme. I decided to go with the legal limit in my state (30% front, 15% rear), and I'm fine with it.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 16, 2009, 07:57:25 PM We didn't get to look at the car today because they took it to a dealer auction. So we have to wait untill tomorrow to see if they still have it then we'll go look at it. It probably didn't sell at the auction (knock on wood) so hopefully we can get it tomorrow.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: dizzle on July 16, 2009, 08:03:36 PM good luck with the buy

Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 17, 2009, 08:38:38 PM So it turns out that the dealer did end up selling the Accord yesterday. So today I decided to look at TSX 6 Speeds and I found one at Acura of Bellevue. We looked at it today and decided to close the deal and get it. I know it's not exactly an Accord but it still has a K24 and stuff. I'll post pictures when we take delivery. And I'll still stay on the site because I love Accords so much and will miss mine very much.
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: dizzle on July 18, 2009, 01:12:28 AM very nice on the pick up. in a way it still is an accord haha. id love to see it in person soon. in person = meet lol
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: 07CoupeBlue on July 18, 2009, 02:00:04 AM Haha ya and it's still the C series chassis. We can probably still meet this weekend if you want. I'm picking the car up tomorrow
Title: Re: Got in a bad accident Post by: CrackerTeg on July 18, 2009, 09:40:07 AM Nice pick up. Yes its still an Accord. Can you say "Euro R?" And now you have the drivetrain all us K24 owners want. Sleep with one eye open! LOL.
