i want to buy 4300k hid bulbs. i can get a used aftermarket 9006 pair (used for a year) for $30
or a used OEM phillips 9006 pair (apporximately 500hrs) for $100.
what do you guys think i should buy?

edit: the phillip bulbs might be fake.  i thought phillips didnt make 9006 bulbs only d2r d2s...
edit again: they are rebased bulbs.
im not sure if i should spend $100 on used bulbs even though they are phillips

Ummmm, if you are using HID bulbs in halogen housings, I would advise against both.  HID bulbs in a halogen housing create a ton of glare and are dangerous.  Buy good halogen bulbs or do a retrofit if you want HIDs.

i want a 4300k hid system mostly for the colour. but i live in the city so its a well lit area so the glare wont be too extreme. plus this is the most affordable solution for me right now

If you really want color, get those cheapo colored bulbs.  The color from HIDs comes from diffraction, not the bulbs.  You'll just be blinding people with the same colored bulbs as your OEM bulbs.

if you realy need to get hid bulbs then id say get philips couse they will mantain their color longer. hope its rebased D2R so somewhat better glare control. hid in 9006 housing is not as bad as hid in 9007 or dual filament housings. i never get flashed with my hids couse they aimed lower, i get 80% of my light from my fogs

hmm thats interesting. i kno they are rebased. but not sure if they are d2s or R. i will look into it

damn they are d2s rebased bulbs. ok im just getting the cheap 4300k bulbs for now. it will only cost me $30.
