Title: I've heard of LED bulbs but this.....?!
Post by: CrackerTeg on May 22, 2009, 09:37:58 PM
I was doing a little browsing through fleabay and happened upon these:
LED Headlight bulbs (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACCORD-00-01-02-03-04-05-06-07-08-Bulb-18-SMDs-9005-LED_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a2103Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a0Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem29fe3f8f42QQitemZ180359237442QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories)
Now, I'm no lighting genius, but what's the deal with this kind of shit? Is it something feasible, or yet another gimmick? Sounds like a gimmick to me, but I don't know any better. What are you guys' thoughts on this?

I don't know about that.  It may be brighter or just a gimmick.  For almost $50 after shipping, I'm not willing to find out.  I'm quite pleased with my S2000 retrofit using Philips Ultinons and HID high beams.

After riding in your car, I'm pleased with your S2000 projectors and PnP HID high beams.
Either way, I'm not interested in trying out these bulbs but if someone else wants to give them a try and report, great. If not, fuck it.

Seeing as these are "high" beam only. My guess is that they are not bright enough for standard headlight bulbs. Seems like a gimmick to me, to pray on those who thinks that everything must be done with an LED. "Yo, I got those phat LED headlights....5 WHP Yo!" LOL

i seen those use on cars that have DRL's..like the (06-07) models, some people like them because it takes away that orange yellow look from your DRL's and it gives you that crispy LED light look during the day..like the new audi's....now as far as using it like a High beam bulbs i think they suck because they dont put out as much light as a PnP HID kit..

this intrigues me...i dont mind the look of my DRLS as long as my fogs are on but white would be cool....guess this makes high beams useless though huh.

I bought those leds bulbs almost a year ago, before I put in my HIDS. They suck, they are not bright at all, they are expensive. I wouldn't bother with them.
