Well, Stage 1 is underway. Got the 255/35/18 Falken FK452s mounted on the 18x9.5 +23mm Battles. These are to go on the rear of the Blackhawk. Tonight will determine if they will fit right away, or if I will need more camber. Here are some pics of how they sit on the rims:

The front will be 18x8" +30 with 225/40/18 but I am not worried about fitment on those because calculations put it right on the money. It's the rear that's gonna be a close ass call!

They look better now.  Although, I'm not exactly crazy about a staggered set up on a FWD car.

Gotta pay up. Although you'll probably be in the dog house for a while.

Well, I am going back to 225s all around in a staggered rim setup, this time using the Falken RT-615 which is the widest 225 they make. Nobody has ever worked with this tire, so I hope I am straight:

What do you guys think? The work I had to do to get the 255s to fit in the back would of deformed my rear quarter panels and I didn't feel like ghetto-shitting my fenders. There are people that practice drifting with tires more stretched than these, so I know I'll be fine.

UPDATE: The 18x8" +30 Battles are in. Still concaved just not as agressive as the 9.5"s

Check em out!

Yeah it's Falken's version of a "race" or "drag" radial. I'm pretty sure you guys have seen BFG and Nitto's versions. Sticky as hell tire.

Yeah, Those Azenis will not last you long at all. They make those for really competition use. IE: Auto X and Drift. For  a daily driven car, its not worth the money. I don't really like Falkens period but to each his own. I do not condone on the tire stretch look as you disturbing the tire structure. I prefer safety over looks, and if you rather look cool then thats all you.

I had the RT-615 on my WRX.  It was an ok tire.  It was really sticky when it warmed up, but they absolutely suck when they are cold, and they get greasy when really hot.  They would get greasy towards the fourth or fifth auto-x run for me.  And got greasy towards minute 18 at the track.

If you are looking for a really good sticky summer tire, I would recommend the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec.  They are highly regarded as better than the Azenis RT-615.  I don't have any personal experience with them but people that have them love them.  They are very popular in the auto-x crowd.
