1  K Series Performance / Stock Motors, Transmissions, & Maintenance / Ignition switch help. on: May 14, 2016, 05:41:18 PM
So my ignition switch is acting up. Ill turn the key and I hear a slight electrical noise coming from it and the car doesn't start. Wiggle the key a little and it starts. I found a replacement one on rock auto. I don't have an issue with changing it myself but the question I have is about the keys. It looks like it comes with new keys? But they don't have the keypad on them. I'm guessing I will need to get the door rekeyed and can I program new keypads or keys myself? I'm debating on just dropping it at the dealer for this repair then not deal with it.

Thanks for the input.. I found out my uncle who has a shop also has a smoke machine. So when I get a chance I am going to bring it up there to look for a leak with that. He also said that I could spray around gasket areas with some throttle body cleaner and if there is a leak the idle will change. The only problem I have with that method is that I powder coated the intake and I think throttle body cleaner has acetone in it which can fuck up powder coatings..

I reused both gaskets. It came apart pretty easy my car only has 55k on it. I also thought a small leak just wish I knew how to find such a small leak if there is one.

Well I installed my tsx im yesterday. The install went pretty smooth. I am feeling a little umph from it. I do have a little hesitation when you first hit the pedal. Has anybody else experienced this? My wife pretty much said if it keeps doing it I have to put the stock one back on  Sad. I'm not sure if its a vacuum leak the idle is smooth and it accels smooth its just at the first 1/2 sec hit of the pedal. Any ideas? I also have SRI as well and thats it for mods.

Figured I would share some pics. I just finished powder coating my TSX intake and it looks sweet. I tried smoothing the intake tubes before coating so it lay smooth and not the rough cast look. I am pretty happy with it.

+1 with the above post. If you use a capacitor just put it on the sub amp since that one will draw the most current when the bass hits.  A 1 farad should be plenty for a 300 watt amp.

I'm not as well versed with too many other cars since it seems that I've spent the majority of my time researching my current build.  Nice ride though.  Is it quick?

Thanks. Yeah its pretty fast. I didn't build it to be a race car just for street fun and shows.

Thanks for the welcomes!!
