You can use a 245 tire but a 40 sidewall would be closer to stock diameter I believe (at least for my sedan)

I don't recommend a 245/40 size tire...your overall diameter will be off by 1 inch. Go with a 235/45 or 245/45 tire.

Depends if its an 17 or 18. If its a 17, then yes it will be off on your overall diameter. The 18 will be close to the overall diameter.
235/40 R17 = OD: 24.4
245/40 R17 = OD: 24.7
235/45 R17 = OD: 25.4
245/45 R17 = OD: 25.7
235/45 R18 = OD: 26.3
245/45 R18 = OD: 26.7
245/40 R18 = OD: 25.7
235/40 R18 = OD: 25.4
205/65 R15 = OD: 25.5 (Accord LX)
205/60 R16 = OD: 25.7 (Accord EX, EX V6 Automatic)
215/50 R17 = OD: 25.5 (Accord V6 6-speed)
As you can see by the OD chart. The 245/40 R18 is a better choice then the 235/45 or 245/45 R18.

You are right about a 18" wheel. I thought he was talking about a 17" wheel....hence the title of this thread "TL Wheels"
