My lip is split in the same place! Of course, I've had mine for 3-1/2 years. I'm from MA and I know not to mess around in Brockton, man. GL finding the bastard that did it.
I took the d/s nozzle off and blew air through it with the compressors at work. That worked a couple months ago, but it has stopped spraying again. Funny how it's always the driver side; not just people on this site, either. I don't want to have to take apart the whole cowl, so it better just be the nozzle. I'll replace it tomorrow and report back.
What was the conclusion??? My driver side stopped spraying a few months ago and I'm finally going to try and fix it this weekend. My plan is to buy the sprayer nozzle since that's the only thing easily accessible. Everything else is buried under the damn cowl, which looks like it's a pain in the ass to remove.
Mine are looking pretty bad. The OP looked promising. I don't necessarily believe that any of the restore kits actually provide lasting results and that is discouraging. I'm just going to replace the entire lens itself. (I'd replace the whole headlight, but then I'd have to repaint the housings black.)
Ah ha. Well, that sounds rather important as well.
In my opinion, there are down sides to having the shocks. It adds a step to removing the hood if you ever had to. Also, it limits how high the hood can be lifted. Of course, the shocks can be disconnected to avoid these issues. The more important down side is that they are something else on the car that will inevitably have to be replaced once they fail like my old ones.
My car has them stock. I had to replace them a few thousand miles ago and I bought them from Majestic Honda. Thing is, I don't know if you can buy everything you need to install them on a prop-hood car.
