Title: Tuning after my mods?
Post by: Arielit0oo on October 26, 2010, 12:47:00 PM
My plans for now are installing an 05 tsx manifold, dc sports header, port & polishing the manifold and doing a bypass mod.

When I get all of this done (this upcoming sunday), Should I get my car tuned?
And what are the benefits.

thnx guys

For those mods, it doesn't really justify tuning.  Your stock ECU will adjust for the increased airflow.  How exactly were you going to tune your car anyway?

as tim said there really is no need to tune with the bolt ons.

Paul would be THE guy to talk to. AFAIK, he and others have used the AEM FIC but I don't know the J series all that well.

^Z is right, so far that is the only viable solution. If you're really interested, there is someone on V6P working on a piggyback mod that looks very promising. BTW, this is the thread for K-series tuning. We J-series guys have our own  8-)

Just wanted to point you in the right direction. That link to V6P is probably our best bet at a Tuning mod right now which won't cost over $1k. lol I'll stop thread jacking before these K guys get all moody... :D

There's a thread on the Hondata forum about a J Series tuning option. You should post over there so they know there is interest.

There's a tuning craze going on in here.

VAFC is a waste of money on a K Series.  If you're running rich with basic bolt ons, then that's an indication that there's something wrong.  What's your AFR?
