Finally got around to changing my spark plugs. The front three are easy to get to, the rear three took a little longer.

Also, I replaced my battery on Saturday morning. That thing finally took a dump last Friday. I got a Duralast Gold from Autozone.

Got it scanned today. My mechanic said it's a bad front O2 sensor (car has almost 74k miles). Called Honda and it's $167 for an oem one. However, after I left the garage, the CEL wasn't there anymore. Did he erase it, or was it a fluke problem... iono. Either way, anyone have the part # for that O2 sensor cuz I think there's more than one?
Also, detailed my engine bay today. Shiny.

There's one on the cat and one before it. I replaced the one on the cat for about $50 from Amazon. I believe the one before the cat is closer to $100. Look on Denso site for the part #.

He probably cleared the code Dave. If that sensor is bad though, the CEL would come on again. I think the part number for the sensor you're referring to is 36531-RAA-A02. That sensor is usually more that the one that goes into the cat. Follow the header to the pipe with the flex pipe, you can't miss seeing the sensor.

To be clear, the sensor before the cat is an Air Fuel sensor, and the sensor on the cat is an Oxygen sensor. Like Eric said, you can find the denso part number and save some money. To give you an example, the RSX Type S A/F sensor is $270 from Acura. I found it on Amazon for $99.

Well, now I'm confused. He said I had a bad "first O2 sensor", but you're saying that the one before the cat. is not an O2 sensor, but the one on the cat. is?

Tim is right. Most mechanics will say its an O2 sensor. The sensor on the cat is O2. Sensor before the cat is A/F sensor. A/F is going to be a bit more expensive (~$100). Spray some PB blaster on that bad boy and let it rip!

Got more clarification today after the CEL came back on. The diagnostic code is : P0134 - A/F sensor 1 heater system malfunction. I think Steve provided the right part #. Funny thing is, I called two dealerships to get a part # and price, and one of them gave me a different part # and told me that the sensor I needed was gonna cost $327. I politely hung up the phone. :
