I know I'll probably be crucified for suggesting this, but in an effort to minimize total changes to my engine, would an AEM F/IC be less complex to setup, even if until I graduate college. I know Kpro is better, but If the AEM unit is a more direct approach, I think that is what I might pursue. Is there anyone who is running the F/IC or knows about it enough to offer any insight?
I've been searching around the forum and haven't come across hardly anyone running a K24a8 with K-pro. If anyone that is running that setup or anyone that might have some insight is willing to give me some advice on the best way to achieve a K-pro/K24a8 setup that would be awesome!
So just to clarify to myself, I need to start with the ecu. Following that, I can begin to upgrade the top end. Got it. Sorry I can't seem to hammer that into my brain, I'm used to small block chevy and ford motors! Secondly, when I upgrade the ecu, I'm assuming it is better to tune it to the way the car is now, then adjust it for upgrades? And finally, my biggest fear is blowing the engine. Has anyone heard any significant horror stories of our car blowing up on a dyno or while being tuned?
My over all plans involve eventually using a lower-boost supercharger set up, So I was already planning on upgrading the ecu, its mostly a matter of procrastination, doing as much as I can before taking the ecu plunge. But I've adjusted my planning and parts lists for the cams to include an ecu. What is the AEM Model? I know its not as good kpro, but in terms of price I'm trying to conserve my money for any faults.
I am currently toying around with the idea of installing more agressive cams, specifically Brian Crower Stage 2 Cams. I have a few questions about materials for this swap.
Other than the cams, springs, and retainers, will I need to get new valves?
Is it necessary to use an ecu such as K-pro or an AEM unit, or will the stock ECU be able to handle it?
Any feedback would be great, but remember, I am merely toying around with the notion
Anyone shaved the rear honda emblem? I'm considering it, but I want to know what I'm getting into first. My biggest fear is having to repaint the entire trunk.
I'm lookin to redo my exhaust and upgrade to a DC sport header, but I want some opinions on whether or not I should remove the cat and go to a test pipe, what diameter pipe works best with the header, and if anyone is using a y pipe to get the dual exhaust look
Every time I roll the window all the way up it makes a loud creak as soon as it is seated in the top of the frame. As I drive along it will make more creaks (while closed), especially when I turn corners. Is this due to bad weather stripping? Or is it misaligned?
