Title: K Sport BBK
Post by: Mike on March 13, 2009, 10:50:47 AM
Anyone ever heard of this K Sport Big Break Kit. I was unable to find to much information on it, and its the first time i've come accross it. Let me know if you guys have heard anything?

That's a $2500 BBK.  For most unmodified or bolt on applications, an 8 piston caliper is overkill.

It's listed for $1600. I know 8 piston is over kill just wanted to see if anyone had seen it or used it before.

I haven't heard of anyone using those, but there may be someone on one of those larger sites that have more members.  IMHO, it's not really worth the money.  At the very most, I'd get a BBK after my motor was built and I was putting down crazy power.

If $2500 is the case, I'll do Brembo

He already has a BBK on his car.

So you guys are saying that this K-Sport kit IS or IS NOT a good deal at $1559 shipped? I rather spend an extra $800 to get BBK when my brakes go, than have to do it later on due to increased power (If I go that route).

If I needed to throw down on a BBK, I'd probably get Endless, Brembo, or Stop Tech.

No Wilwood on your list huh Tim? I guess they are borderline rice. I'd get the Brembo kit but it's $2500 and not sure they have blanks.

Title: *UPDATE*
Post by: Blackhawk on March 24, 2009, 11:01:10 AM
I e-mailed the eBay seller to see if multiple caliper colors are available although I must admit, the anodyzed orange looks cool and will pop nice with any color. Reminds me of how the Brembo calipers popped on the 6mt G35 coupes when they first came out

Just slipped him an offer at $1400. If he takes it, I'll burn my 15% off eBay coupon and take this home for $1190.00

Yeah pigpig is new on here but there is no hate at all. He actually had them sitting for a while though, something I would never do... sorta like a party foul

Why would American made calipers that are actually used in racing applications be considered rice?  I will tell anyone that does intend to go wilwood to get the coated shims they sell separately from jegs or summit and possibly step down to the Q compound on the pads.  The ones from fastbrakes are race pads without shims and it sounds like you are torturing a cat when slowing from 30-0.  With the shims they are a great option and wilwood's customer support is top notch.  I love the pedal feel and progressiveness of mine.
