The F-Pro Thread [update]08.04.09
«

Alright after a lot of research and looking at possible solutions to tune a k24a8 engine I and Paul both have decided to look into using Hondata Flashpro with a conversion harness. This will be updated as information is gathered
Plan:
To use a stock k24a8 and a k20z3 harness splice into them, mate them together at the appropriate connections to have a k20z3 ECU run my entire car. After this has been done we will be connecting my Flashpro. hopefully there will be limited CELs but FlashManager comes with a Code Checker as well. But if this is a possible lost cause then I'll know and be going another route to run my Frank!
Outcome:
Fail
Project Cancelled: No questions please!
Its just not feasible on a production and plug and play scale for the amount of time and money it would cost to possibly run this setup. Ill be running a different EMS on the frank, prolly Kpro and am currently in the process of acquiring one.
Thank you

kool!! Hopefully it works good. If it does we need someone with a k24a4 to do it. I want to add more mods and get the most of out it with a good tune.

No! possible $700 mistake, hondata softened the blow, and as for the a4 im not extremely familiar with all of its wiring maybe it will work but ud need to get a MAF sensor like the a8s and z3s,.. once I get the results ill post a new thread on it in conjunction with Paul,... if this bears fruit, all prpbabilities are looking positive tho, I am curious as to the range of the a8s primary o2 sensor,.. the part # is very close to the z3s but maybe that's just all primary o2 part #s I never checked it against the a4s, ill prolly do that soon.

At least you know that you can get the primary AFR sensor for an RSX to work. I double checked the part numbers for the A4 and A8 and they are the exact same part. There is some speculation that the primary AFR sensor may not be a narrow band though. As far as I know, it's been questioned, but never proven.

yea the rsx primary has been proven to work with kpro and an a4 but those like rsx ecus are in high demand as far as I know nowones played with the z3s parts. less demand prolly which is a primary reason I've hopped all over this fpro solution, alright enough speculation, ill keep u all posted, later

If you're going to be using a Z3 ECU, it makes sense to use the primary afr sensor that would go on that car. Go with the Civic Si primary afr sensor and see what happens.

FPRO is designed for hondas/acuras with dbw, if you want a tunning options you should probably go with kpro and chams harness.

id say the same thing,.. but hondata has said they don't actually have control over DBW im getting the idea that the ecu just needs a signal from the tb,.. not gonna rule it out. But the z3s ecu and TB control are internal,.. oh well still got some time to wait on this one!

Blinx have you been working on another way to hack into the a8? I have the shop I'm using looking into the kpro dual harness idea. See what they can come up with.

I think he's still working on getting a couple of other things going to make this work. Try shooting him a PM.

I've split the F-Pro and K-Pro discussion. Please continue the F-Pro discussion in here. I would love to see you guys provide as much information as possible so that others can come here for help if you are successful in getting F-Pro to work. I hope that this can become as helpful and informative as the K-Pro thread for people that want to do this when you get this to successfully run the K24A8.
