Sorry Sam. I never saw this post until now. So, it's the plastic grommets in the arms that wear out?

Looking online, those arms are fairly cheap. Good advice and thanks for sharing. You should stick around and post more often. We miss you.

No worries man. Ya 1 out of the 4 plastic grommets (2 linkage arms with plastic grommets at each end) had warn out. Once I got the trim off, it was quite obvious which linkage arm was to blame. I wasn't sure which one it would be ahead of time so I purchased both (since they are each about $10) and just replaced both for the heck of it. Appreciate the missing, but school/work/moving has kept me pretty busy. Will try to stop by and contribute more often! Smiley

Hey folks. My posts looking for help about this never got traction. I ended up searching youtube and came across this video which explains the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fhZausHiY0 and this video which reviews how to get to the components https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbF9SviejRI . Essentially, I took a chance that my issue was the same as the first video (one of the plastic grommets had worn out). Honda does not sell that specific grommet alone and aftermarket replacements aren't the best fit (from what I gathered reading online). I ended up buying the two linkage arms (which includes the grommets) from Honda for about $20 (Firestone would have replaced the entire windshield wiper motor assembly for $200 in parts and another $100 in labor) and replaced these both following the second video.

Posting in case someone on the Internet is searching for this fix and happens upon this post!

Hey Folks, long time no see. My wipers have started hitting the extremes of the window frame (slaps the Left side and bottom). This started occuring after I replaced the blade inserts with new OEM inserts (coincidence?). This occurs intermittently, but when it is occurring, it is loud and feels like they are about to break off. Firestone said its the "Windshield Wiper Transmission", based on the play in the wipers even when not running. They quoted me ~$300 ($200 for parts and $100 for labor). Wondering if anyone else has experienced this before and if anyone has attempted the repair on their own? I searched the forum and only saw a few mentions of windshield wiper motor recall (which I don't believe my car fell into) but no mention of a windshield wiper transmission. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

holy crap, nice little project there! Do my eyes deceive me or is that an auto? '79? I know in TX there is a difference between antique and classic plates. Antique being show only and classic meaning you can drive it whenever (albeit with a higher registration cost). Is there no such difference in MA?

I've always wanted a cool old car to fix up and drive around for fun. Still kicking myself for passing on a sweet old Honda s600 for dirt cheap...but I had no money, no place to put it, and it didn't run...

Holy shit!  Where have you been?

Cheesy lol, school runs my life now. On the occasion I still get time to tinker with my car (posted "inspire" fog mod I did a few months back)

Thanks for all the tips and advice everyone, sorry i took so long with the pictures, had a busy day.

So when they slipped out of my hand they slid down the area where my finger is, I had thought that they just fell through and landed in the trunk but they didn't. I  have a magnetic pickup tool like someone mentioned but theres no way i can get it in there.

You may have to get one of those bendable magnet stick things and poke it around where the bolt fell.

Drop the seat, open the trunk and try to pinpoint the location. if you have a strong enough magnet and the bolt is in an ideal location, might be able to pull the bolt to an opening from across the cloth or what not

Does it sound like the bolts are higher up (near the rear shelf) or like they have slid down one of the sides?

If my memory serves me correctly, you have access to the rear shelf (ie small gaps where the speakers are) that you can stick a finger into or a magnetic prope.

Other option is to go out to an open lot and do donuts in one direction and then back the other; rinse and repeat until the nut falls out (don't do this somewhere that you will get a ticket)...I did this rather slowly (just doing sharp turns back and forth) in a back lot to get a nut to fall out of the engine bay that was rattling around for a little while

If anyone was wondering, I ended up buying this: http://www.eGay.com/itm/271225961196?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Perfect fit in our dome light and nice and bright

Edit: also, apparently this forum now has a filter that turns "e Bay" to "eGay"...not sure why. You can get to the above link by changing to G to a B

Hey Folks, since the original creation of this DIY, my dome LED bulb burnt out. I'm looking to replace it with the newer LED panels for more light. Just wondering if anyone has experience with these from a particular ebay seller you'd recommend?

For reference I'm looking for something like this, preferably the biggest one that will fit in the dome light: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2PCS-WHITE-LED-INTERIOR-DOME-MAP-LIGHT-BULB-36-SMD-LED-PANEL-XENON-HID-LAMP-/301011045735?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4615a80d67&vxp=mtr

I swear this was a topic that you brought up a few years back Sam. I'll look around and see if I can dig it up. Either way, this should be a sticky.

Yup! Cheesy I wired the fogs up ~3 years ago, but never got around to actually installing them.

Here is a couple quick shots of the results, please don't mind how dirty the car is:

Hey folks, long time no see. I'm looking for factory bumper removal instructions (or a good diy with pics) to remove the front bumper on my 06-07 sedan. I searched and went through 5-6 pages of this subtopic and couldn't find either of the above. I know it's a fairly straightforward process, but I want to make sure I know exactly how many screws/clips there are and where they are found. Finally going to put the fogs in that I wired 3 years ago  Cheesy

Does anyone know of a Majestic Honda equivalent for Toyota Parts? Need to order some windshield wiper inserts for my mom's car.

Also, in case Tim is reading this, still haven't gotten around to fixing my door light...have been traveling the last 2 weeks.

Is there a timeline for this project or just build it as you get time?
