Drop that bitch. since it's coilovers that you're after, make sure you use anti-seize lube to make sure you can lower your ride once the winter is over.

Good luck on your decision and don't forget to post up results.

For the record, the super cup kit is not a coilover system.  I'd go for a drop over engine performance.  Better and suspension and handling is always the way to go when it comes to improving performance.

i 2nd what tim said, power doesnt mean shit unless you can put it to the road effectively. i love my pullies and header but i did the coilovers first. +1 for tein.

I also recommend dropping the car over engine mods because it will look better and engine mods need to be drastic to do anything good with a K24a4.  If you do go for headers though, get the ceramic coated ones....having stainless steel headers is pointless since nobody can see them to ooh and ahh at.

lowering the car will look nicer and handle nicer.

Man, I'm in the same position. I don't know if I want to get the pulleys, or to lower it first. Looks like everyone here is going for lowering, lol. I'll post some more about what all I should get in my profile thread for the sake of not jacking fabulous'. :P

yea, I'll hop on the bandwagon, drop it.  you'll be so happy with the way it handles and how much sleeker it'll look!

ever since i installed my thermal gasket, deleted the intake resonator and installed the TSX IM, i am always looking for a little more performance. but i guess you guys are right. i should have it handling right before i add any more performance. plus after just completing a full TL-S sway conversion i guess that should be the next step. but damn they're so expensive in Canada. $599 USD is an amazing deal!

are the race springs bearable to ride in daily? i have never had a car with coilovers. so i dont know what to expect.

+1 on the suspension.  I've learned to appreciate a nice suspension....lowering is also the best aesthetic upgrade I have done on my car.

Drop it like its hot! That was the second performance upgrade I made. Worked well with the RSB upgrade I did. Suspension should ALWAYS be the first thing you do if you want looks and performance. What good is a bunch of power if you can't put it down?

Ok guys I have done the drop. Now I will be installing dc ceramic headers next. Lastly I think will be the exhaust. It's soo hard to know what tone you will get when picking an exhaust. So I ask the experts. Is there any exhaust out there that retively close to an sti's perfromance exhaust. I am going for a quite set up with no drone when cruising on the freeway. Just a deep tone when being pushed. Any suggestions? I know this has been covered a million times. It's just so hard to make a decision when there is noone with it to hear it in person

People really the magnaflows with mangapack res. Now I seem to be stuck between two decisions.
Apexi wsII vs magnaflow and bolt-on vs custom.... Damn

The A'PEXi sounds pretty good.  I've been in a coupe that has one with a DC header.

Always start at the wheels and work your way into the engine, any extra HP is no good if you can't control it......

i didnt want to start a new thread so i jsut continued this one. i just need opinion on what exaust set up to go. cant decide between magnaflow 14829 muffler with custom 2.25" piping and 18"magnapack resonator or apexi ws2 catback

Do you guys know which would be quieter the magnaflow set up or apexi catback

The A'PEXi is pretty quiet actually.  I haven't heard a single Magnaflow set up yet.

i have to resurrect this thread and ask if you guys think i should get a high flow cat when i do my exhaust. reason for asking is i want more gains but i dont want to worry about rather or not i will pass emissions

Title: Re: what do you guys think

You can get a high flow cat, but don't expect to see much in the matter of gains.  Make sure you have one of those O2 sensor spacers though.  You may get a P0420 code with a high flow cat.

will a high flow cat pass emissions?

If you trick the o2 sensor you should be fine. I love my no emissions state!

how? with a defouler?

Title: Re: what do you guys think
Post by: timot_one on July 17, 2010, 11:09:20 PM
Yes.  That's what you would use so you don't get a CEL.  I'm not sure what would happen if they used a sniffer for emissions though.

i think i better not take the chance. especially if the gains arent noticeable. ill just stick to an oem cat
