The paint is peeling off the steering wheel controls and the DS grab handle WTF. This is a common and known issue with G35s, cheap ass fucking material. I wonder if they would replace it all if I buy it, that’s the $1M question. They actually have to replace the whole wheel and probably the whole door panel, a lot of work (4-5hrs) and whos to say what the replace it with is any better. POS Nisfiniti!! Just wondering yall’s thoughts. I’ve fucking never seen a Honda or Acura’s interior peel like that, roof/hood paint on the other hand…Still eyeing the 08 TL in case this doesnt work out.  :

my door handle is all scratched up but not peeling.  It's scratched from my wedding band.  No other peeling that I'm aware of.

Jer, these issues are part of buying a used car.   If you can't deal with them then i would suggest buying a new car.

I have OCD issues Nelson, I can't afford a new car, depending on what it is I guess.

Maybe I'll look at a certified Acura TSX or TL, those are typically cleaned up pretty well and mostly free of issues. I mean the G35 is spotless, other than the paint peeling. I just can't see myself looking at that flaw every single day.

Dude, Nelson is right.  You can't expect a used car to be perfect.  Either do one of two things, buy a new car that will be perfect, or lower your expectations.  You're just not being realistic about this Jer.

I mean, if the G35 is spotless except for those two things, see if they'll replace the handle the the covers on the steering wheel controls.  What's the most that it could be?  a couple of hundred bucks if you let the dealer do it?

Or if you know a body shop guy, I'm sure they'll give you a decent price.   The other thing to look at is, realistically, how long do you plan on keeping this car?  Two years tops?

Nah man, u were spot on, I didnt take it the wrong way. I might lower my price, that way spending maybe $16k, I would expect flaws, rather than $23k

You may not keep it long, but having a better condition interior will help with resale.

I would negotiate them replacing the parts.  If they don't want to do it, tell them you would take it if they knock off an extra $500 in the price in order to replace the parts.  Then find the parts somewhere and replace it yourself.. a steering wheel and a door panel are easy enough..

Well I've decided to lower my price quite a bit, looking at a 07 TL 80k miles $15266 or a 07 TSX 69k miles $15999 with nav

Thoughts on either? Never purchased a higher mileage acura before

I bought wifey's RDX with about 73k for 18. So far, that thing has been great and I beat on it regularly. Frankly, since you already had a TSX and got rid of it shortly afterwards, go for the TL.

The TL is spotless, CBP/Blk no nav but its clean considering the miles, its at Acura so can work a deal maybe.

I like the RDXs alot hard to find em cheap though
