It wasn’t that funny really.

Well the FX is still front runner, few road blocks with the dealership, no surprise there. Listed for $22k but then I get in there and they say “oh we have $23k in it, online is a misprint”. Think I’m going to hold out for a 6MT.

Call the better business bureau!  My friend did that.  They had an '07 Si listed at $17k,  he went in and they told him it was a misprint and the actual price was $2x,xxx he called them up and after 6 hours of arguin with the dealership drove the car off the lot for $17k   Cheesy

Discussion.  Pros and Cons.
2000-2001 AP1 had a plastic window softop.  maybe including 2002.. not sure when they started the glass rear window, it was either 2002 or 2003.

AP1
No traction control
9000 rpm redline
Faster steering ratio than base model AP2
Need rear driveshaft spacers when lowering
Lighter flywheel than AP2
Cable throttle
16" stock wheels
AP2 headlights are a direct swap, but AP2 taillights are not

2004-2005 AP2
8000 rpm 2.2L motor
Cable throttle still
Driveshaft spacers aren't a necessity but they could be (this applies for all AP2s)
17" wheels stock
Heavier flywheel (makes street driveability better)
Slower steering ratio than AP1
LED taillights (I think it's on all AP2s)

2006-2009 AP2
Introduction of Traction Control and Drive by Wire throttle
Electronic Cruise Control

2008-2009 CR
No softtop
Black Hardtop standard on all 4 colors
CR specific interior (seats, shift knob and shift boot, carbon kevlar trim, tonneau cover, steering wheel, door panels, radio door, floor mats, etc.)
CR specific wheels
CR aero
CR suspension
rear strut brace under tonneau cover
No spare tire
TPMS
Faster steering ratio than base AP2
reinforced trunk
CR specific exhaust
lighter than base AP2

There are die hard AP1 fans, but overall, the AP2 is a lot more refined and is regarded as a better car.  There are suspension differences, as well as color option differences throughout all the years.  I believe there is a color difference in the headlight lens between AP1 and AP2 as well.  AP2 and AP1 bumpers, front and rear, are also different.  Exhaust is different between AP1 and AP2.  AP1 is also higher from the factory.  There's also variations on audio packages available, but for the most part, its not great.  Although, AP2 is vastly better than AP1 in terms of audio.

The AP1 is a bit twitchier also.  AP1 or AP2 is an amazing car, but you still have to be careful driving it.

I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, but that's the stuff I remember off the top of my head right now.

I really wish I could fit in an S2000. I sat in one at the dealership. I put the seat back all the way and my knees where still hitting the steering wheel. Such a nice car but a little small for me  Sad

Wow Mark touche!  You really know your s2ks! Cheesy

I had originally looked at a couple s2ks when I bought my 6-6 but my insurance company wanted a premium that was TWICE what the car payment would have been (I had some tickets and points) and I dont think it would be practical as a daily.

A friend of mine drove his cousin's AP1 this weekend and was GUSHING about it, which is weird cause hes a VW guy and is always talkin shit about my Hondas.  He said it was litterally probably the most fun car hes ever driven... fml.

So I've been doin a lot of thinkin about my next car and toyin with diff ideas: TL, STI, etc.  And I think what I'd really like to do is pick up an s2k and keep the 6-6 as a daily.  You can get an AP1 for around $10k (give or take a few grand).  Which would give me about the same payment I have now, maybe less.  But I still have 2 years left of payments on the Accord to think about it. lol

So thanks again Mark!

that can be fixed with some new seats and/or seat rails..
