Pros-Iron block LS, fairly reliable, law of gross tonnage for those highway trips, its not a Ferd
Cons-its fucking huge, not that great on gas, wifey may not be able to whip it around as easily as the Ody

I will admit, the Ody can turn on a dime, I'm shocked sometimes how many rotations of the SW from lock to lock. Yeah the Tahoe is huge ang mpg sucks but id rather them in sonething big. The Ody still has alot of life left (119k miles) but it's been thrashed inside n out. Its nasty really

No experience with the '07s but I rented a '12 or '13 a couple months ago and wow the ride was phenomenal. It is like driving on a cloud. The driver's seat was probably the most comfy car seat I've ever sat in. The MPG I got was abysmal though. My uncle owns a '10 and loves it. He had a Pilot before but it didn't have enough room for four kids he said so he traded it in for the Tahoe and couldn't be happier.

07 Tahoe for the wifey. Anyone have dealings,.opinions, etc in regards to these suvs? Ody is getting old, time for a replacement.
My mom drove an 07 Tahoe (with the V8) before she traded it in for the TL. It was a really nice vehicle, and she wishes that she never traded. It got shitty gas mileage, like 13 in the city and maybe 15-18 on the highway, but the ride was smooth, and the V8 made it faster than my car in a straight line.

I rented one in Alaska. It was an LTZ model. That thing was deluxe! I loved it.

I found an 05 LT Z71 (77k miles) for $14,900. Really nice shape, love that body style. Price is a bit high but it's a second choice.

I don't really like the Tahoe, and its mostly because I'm not a fan of GM seats.
Do you need an SUV that large, Jer?

07 Tahoe are good I would definitely go for a LTZ 4x4 model if you can find one also takes E85 which is cheaper if you can find a station around your way

Finally convinced my parents to stop putting mid grade in their 2012 TL and start putting in premium like it's supposed to. What a surprise, they said that the car runs better now, and they get better gas mileage!
My grandparents also have a 2009 RL, and I'm almost certain they've been putting in regular ever since they bought the car. Makes me shudder just thinking about it.

All they're doing is destroying the motor. Acuras usually have high compression motors, so running mid grade fuel will knock/detonate. Such a shame for the person that ends up getting suckered into buying those cars used.

My grandfather kept telling me that he's never heard any knocking/detonating/pinging, which is why he runs regular. The ECU knows to retard the timing anyways, right?
But even then, the knocking/detonating/pinging isn't always audible, is it? So they've probably been silently killing the motor this entire time. Ironic part is my grandfather is losing his hearing at an alarming rate.
