There's a CBP accord that parks right in front of my job every night. For some reason the guy had it repainted and they added like 4 times the amount of metallics to the paint. At night it shimmers. Looks weird to me.  I've never seen that done to a stock color before, only custom colors.

So, I've been contemplating a J swap lately. To get any real power out of the k24a4 requires a rebuild or FI. So the options are to swap for a k24a2 and all of its needed items or swap to a J for less and have more power and TQ out of the box. I've been hunting around and know I'm going to need the engine w/ accessories, trans, axles, engine harness, shifter box, shift cables and ECU but not entirely sure of what else. The plan is to pick up a wrecked from the rear donor (preferably a 6 speed TL so I can snag the brakes and wheels and whatever my little heart desires) then part what I don't need. Thoughts?

A wrecked 6 speed TL is hard to find out here so that's difficult to say. LKQ has the J30 engine for about $500. Not sure if that's including accessories. Transmission is another $500. ECU out of an 05 6 spd Accord is about $300. The engine harness I'm assuming is about $300 but I haven't gotten a definitive answer on that. Other odds and ends being a timing belt, compression and leakdown, new clutch and single mass flywheel, shifter box, etc is maybe another $1k for the miscellaneous shit and I'm shooting a bit high. All labor done by me at school. A k24a2 from LKQ is roughly $1200. Transmission is approximately $800 (LKQ has none available as of this post). ECU about $200 plus all the other jazz I mentioned previously.

J30a4 swap=$2600ish
K24a2 swap=$3500ish

Wow i would've never guessed that a K is actually more expensive than a J.

Is having more power really worth that much to you? I mean, that's a lot of money man. Thats money that you can put towards another car that has more power to begin with or that can be a little more fun to drive like a RWD maybe? Like that you don't sacrifice the reliability of the accord, that is your daily driver after all.

If it was me, i would get that money and buy myself something cheap, like a miata or something, pretty it up, and use it as my weekend toy to ride to the beach and/or drift around corners full of pedestrians tokyo drift style.

It is, but you know what i mean. New wiring, transmission, a lot of things you gotta pay attention to and a lot of variables with the potential to get messed up.
Notice how i started, "is the extra power really worth it to you?" if the answer is yes? Then by all means go ahead!

I have a better idea. Hunt down the fuckers that are storing the HSV-010GT and steal the V8 from that. Then you'll have a man's swap.  Tongue

You would need and upgrade in mounts also and maybe sub-frame and/or bushings. I know some are the same across, but some suspension components are J specific for the added weight. Have you looked at the cost of FI with re-sleeving your current block?
