How do you know when they need to be replaced? I'm getting this vibration sometimes when I'm pulling out in 1st gear. I suspect that this might be the issue. But then again, I don't know much.

Excessive movement, tears, leaking oil from the dampeners, etc. From the symptoms I described, the only way to know is to visually inspect them. Vibrations when accelerating from first is a pretty good indicator something is amiss.

I sent Arie a text earlier. I'm pretty sure he did too. He's probably buried in his books, studying.

Is that what he's calling it? I gotta catch up on the slang.

Talk to NVA-AV6 he can refill them for you, and they will be good as new. He might even have a set he can send you, and you can send yours back his way (sort of like a core) It will preform as well or better than new, and be boat loads less. I had two mounts gone and didn't have an idea...

I had one of my bad mounts replaced $287, and NVA fixed one, and I think it was $60 just to give you an idea. Please don't take that $60 as a fact though because he may charge more, and I don't remember what was what because I had him do other work at the time.

Thanks Mike. As good as Paul is, I don't think I'm going to be driving to VA for this. Maybe for something, but I don't know if I will for this. I appreciate the suggestion though and I'll PM him. I'll also ask my local shop how much they'll charge.

Have them install the ones you get from Paul and you will still save money. Which one is broken? One or two of them are very easy to change

I'm not sure. I'll check tomorrow. I'm assuming that's what it is since practically everything shakes in the front end of the car, dashboard, steering wheel.

I dont know generally broken mounts would make you feel less vibration

Not in a FWD during acceleration. His mounts may be so far gone that whenever the engine rocks, he feels it.

From personal experience when mine were fixed I felt 1,000,000 times more vibration. Mine were broken completely in half so it was like the engine was sort of just floating around.

Its possible you got used to the floating engine rather than what your car was supposed to feel like?
