I cannot express how amazing you guys are.  It has been a rough two weeks to say the least and to see this today is incredible.  I really do not know what to say.  To be able to drive my car again after my recovery gives me something to really look forward to.  I really thank everyone.  Tim, I do not know how to repay you for this.
To every one:  if you are going to be in town or traveling through feel free to hit me up.  I need to get to a CM event and meet some of the people on this site.  I was hoping to get to the CanAm but not this year.    When my local car club gets an event together I will post it on here.  Always feel free to join in with us.  Like this site, we are a tight group of car fans that are always there for each other.
Update on me:  I took myself to the E.R. on sat the 6th after work with shortness of breath.  I was informed that I was suffering from congestive heart failure.  They have gotten the fluid out of my lungs and off my system.  I am going to get a heart catheterization angiogram tomorrow.   If that goes good, the plan is for me to have my pacemaker upgraded and the wires replaced next week. If that goes ok, I will have one day in hospital recovery and 2 weeks at home.
Once again I must thank everyone.  You guys are incredible.

I got to take the boosted Accord to the Mid Ohio Regional Porsche Club America auto-x on May 22.  Here is a video of one of my runs.  My friend let me use his Hero HD to film it.  Saddly my next run I didn't get to film and was 2 seconds faster.  Had a blast.  Will post pics once I get my SD card back.
Ryan run at MORPCA Auto-X.

5  Lounge / General Automotive & Forum Discussion / Re: What did you do to your Gen7 today? on: April 23, 2011, 06:21:26 PM
Didn't do this today, but on Thurs I changed the oil and installed my new O2 sensor.  Getting the O2 input turned on and the tune touched up next Fri.   As for the oil the car has gotten down to just a little more than .5 qt of oil every 5k.  Before I turboed it was eating that much in about 1k miles.  Makes me happy.
6  Lounge / Regional / Re: OHCM Squad on: March 17, 2011, 06:01:26 PM
National Trails is 1/4mile and Nelson Ledges is about 2.1 miles.

2011 Ohio Hondas Spring Meet @ 1st Annual Horizon Audio Dyno Day for Dogs & Cruise-In

Here are the final details...finally. We have changed the name, to accomodate our new cause, the Stark County Humane Society. Canned food drives are definitely a good cause, but this is a cause that is near and dear to some of our hearts, and after some personal experience with them lately, it seems like they're DEFINITELY in need of some help.

DATE:
Saturday, May 14th, 2011

LOCATION:
Horizon Audio
5480 Whipple Ave NW
Canton, OH 44720
(right off of the Belden Village exit on Rt 77)

ADMISSION:
-can or bag of dog food, money, blankets, bowls, leashes, etc...they're not picky. This is NOT mandatory, but it is HIGHLY appreciated. There aren't any armed guards chasing you down if you don't bring anything, but please do what you can...a little goes a long way.

DESCRIPTION/TENTATIVE SCHEDULE (times subject to change):

10am- 12pm Noon
-Poker Run: 10am to NOON. (Free to enter, and we should have goodie bags from Summit for participants)
*starts at Horizon Audio, eventually returning there.
*open to all vehicles

12pm Noon- 7pm?

-DJ (with good music for once)

-Cruise-In/Ohio Hondas Spring Meet: This is a hang-out type environment like any other meet before it, where everyone can come and not be hassled...so please don't ruin it by the following: BURN-OUTS, FIGHTS, DRUGS, DRINKING, BOUNCING OFF THE REV LIMITER, ETC. I apologize if you can't go without drinking for the better half of a day, but if you can't, please don't come.

-2WD & AWD Dyno provided by SlowMotion Motorsports (BIG thanks to Joe & Marty!) $40 for 3 runs for 2WD, $65 for AWD.

-Motorcycle Dyno - Provided by Horizon Audio, $20 a run.

-Food stands (details will be updated eventually)

-Manufacturers (Audio & Performance) are in the works...

INVITED:

-OhioHondas
-All other imports
-Domestics
-Bikes
*all groups will be partitioned off tentatively...

To reiterate, there is never a concrete idea/location for a Spring Meet, so we figured if we could get more than the usual 20-30 cars that usually show up (i.e. other cars too), we could get a little bit more out of the event, and at the same time provide a spot for the OH Spring Meet. Two birds...onestone. As you can see, there is pretty much something for everyone. There are restaurants and mall shopping within walking distance, or a 1 minute car ride at most for signifcant others that don't want to do the car thing all day. Also, a buddy of mine and I are getting tuned on Sunday, and if you want a private tune, there might be time for 1 or 2 other tunes at my house on sunday afternoon (in N. Canton) by SlowMo...I will find out, this is for a full tune, not $40 dyno runs. Any questions that you don't want up here, email DynoDayForDogs@gmail.com. Look forward to seeing everyone that can make it!

If the cop wants to push the issue both on the dash and on your visor are not legal either.  I has to be displayed on the front of the vehicle.  My old neighbor was a Columbus cop and said that it states that it is to be on the front of the car.  He would actually pull people over in certain parts of town if they had it there.  Drug dealers commonly keep their front plate there.

I no longer have it.  Sold it to pay some bills and got the Accord turboed.  Might get another one in a couple of years.
10  Lounge / Regional / Re: OHCM Squad on: February 13, 2011, 12:50:40 PM
The OHPOC.org spring meet is May 7.  We are not sure what the main event is yet but there will be a party Saturday night.  We are looking at either a dyno day or another photo scavenger hunt.  I will update when new info is available.
11  J Series Performance / Stock Motors, Transmissions, & Maintenance / Re: so what Synthetic oil to use? on: January 13, 2011, 10:51:05 PM
I have run Mobil 1 5w-20 from when I first got the car in 03 w/ 8mi on it til around 90k.  I then tried Royal Purple and loved how it ran.  Engine got noticeably smoother.  Ran that until about 140k.  I now run O'Reily's 5w-30 synthetic.  This is due to several things  It meets the same standards as other synthetics, costs a lot less, have not noticed a difference between it and Mobil 1 as far as performance, car does go through about a quart every 5k, and have seen several articles that show that most generic brand synthetics are just a good as the name brands on bench tests.
I still feel that Royal Purple is better but is just to expensive right now.  Might use it before track days only.  I am now going to a 3k interval due to the extra heat and wear of being boosted.
As for oil filters, I go with only Honda oem.  They are made by Filtec, Honeywell, Fram*, and Toyo-Roki.  Most are Filtec.  If you want to know for sure, it is stated on the filter.  They have to meet Honda's standards and have never done me wrong.
*Fram is owned by Honeywell, not sure why some are labeled one way and some the other.
The way I see it, if I want to know how my oil is doing I will pull off my valve cover and look at the condition of the head.  When I pull the head off my wife's boosted 89 Prelude last year to do a head gasket, I was stunned at how clean it was.  It was spotless.  It was not this clean when we put it in 40k earlier.  It was this clean because we change the oil methodically every 3k.  We use Honda dino oil every time.  To me that tells me that now days it is more of how good you are at sticking with the change interval than whether you are using the most amazing oil on the market.
Just my .02.

If you are 21+ we(OHPOC.org) are having our annual Christmas party this Sat. (1-15-11).  Starts around 5 and ends whenever.  It is being held at my house (pm me for address if you want to come.) It is BYOB and it is a pot-luck so please bring a snack(nothing crazy just something to munch).  There will be a showing of the new 2010 OHPOC dvd.  It is the perfect event to get to know the members and get an over view of what we do throughout the year.
13  Lounge / Pictures & Videos / Re: My last track day on: January 11, 2011, 06:37:51 PM
I have I4 5spd.  My first track day was on eibach pro-kit springs only.  Not to bad due to the Accord having the double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension.
After that I concentrated on brakes and suspension.  At that last track day of 2010 I was on H&R Race springs with Koni Yellow 8 way adjustable struts, TL-S rear sway bar, V6 6spd strut bar, stainless brake lines, Hawk HP-S front pads, Rotora BBK and Motul Dot 5.1 fluid.
Brake pads, front rotors and stainless lines I have found to be a must.  At my first event I set my stock pads on fire and made the brake lines soft.  Couldn't track until I changed that stuff out.  I went with Hawk HP-S pads, power slot slotted and dimpled rotors and stainless lines.  After this the car braked amazingly well and allowed me to go deeper into the corners.
It is not the fastest car but I have made passes on several Mustangs(not v6s) and even harassed a Hemi 300 SRT-8.  The key is you can make it up in the corners.
The best investment if you find that you like track events is to take every advantage of any instruction you can.  I have even taken the first day of the Acura High Performance driver education at Mid-Ohio.  Best money is spent on the driver.
As for Auto-x it is kinda heavy but is fun.  I have not done an SCCA event so I do not know how it compares to other cars in its class.  I generally go to the local Miata clubs auto-x events.
14  K Series Performance / Engine and Drivetrain Performance / Re: My turbo setup is done! :) on: December 26, 2010, 10:22:01 PM
145k miles on stock motor, 5spd and tuned at Slowmotion Motorsports by Corey Parish.  My wife's turbo 89 Prelude is tuned by him also.  I wouldn't let anyone else tune my cars.
I must thank Timothy for helping me get the dual ecu harness and letting me know about all the little quirks with boosting an Accord.  Without that help I would still have a car that doesn't run with an FIC and no hope of getting fixed.

I look forward to giving you a ride and seeing how our cars pair up.  The race will have to wait until warmer weather.  My winter wheel all season tires do not like traction.
I plan on painting the charge pipes matte black and replace my intake manifold cover to give it an even more stock look to the engine bay.

Amazingly good.  If I don't hammer on it, it drives normal.  When I lay into it it will go like stink.
