1  K Series Performance / ECU, EMS, & Tuning / Re: The F-Pro Thread [update]08.04.09 on: September 01, 2009, 09:27:12 PM
I'm about to turbo my a8 next month. Ordering a few misc parts then it's going on. I'll be using Haltech but if Cham can make it work for the a8 auto then I'll be the first one tearing the Haltech out and putting the K-pro in lol

Jeff your so right. I have learned a fare amount of information from this thread, let alone reading about the products discussed.

Skippy your my hero! DO you hear me my hero lol. I have spoke with you on many occasions through pm on over a thread on this forum and the old gen 7. I agree 100% with k-pro being the best on the market for k-series motors. Keep in mind I gave that link for the a8 guys out there like myself. Bryan/Paul may possibly crack the code on the motor, but I just posted it up for a piggy back solution to our motors(the thread was about piggy backs?). I just wanted to share some information I came across, throw it out there and see what people think. K-pro I think is best used in motors that have 250whp+. don't get me wrong if your going to boost 240whp and below I'm not saying you should use a piggy back but I think you can do that if you do it right and be safe. You could go the k-pro route but you pay all that money for something that will have less then 250whp?

Skip I do know who your talking about. He lived in FL and did go the RTC kit route. He made roughly 294whp. There was a difference between his set-up and Mike's but there was not that big of a difference. Jason had a high flow cat as well where as I don't think mike did?

A full ems would be great but I get that odd feeling that is not as close as we all might hope. Bryan/Paul please prove me wrong lol. Either way pretty good fine, for a tuner on a budget or running low boost I think it was a sweet find. I'm curious since you said you where looking at piggy backs and what not. From what you saw what did you think would be the best option as far as they go? Just a little something I found...oh yea if you read it go ahead and check out the supported vehicles. Skip/Timot one I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this the most.

For that price you could spend another 100 more and pick up a E-mange ultimate. I looked into these myself but the ultimate can do a little more from what I have seen. Being one of the k24a8 guys if our only option for a tune was a piggy back because well k-pro has not been adapted and worse case F-pro doesn't work I would say we should look into the ultimate. There is another option but I'm still trying to research it a little. I'm not sure the apexi afc would really do anything for the a8? For that we could just get a FMU the old school way and try that out lol. If it comes down tot use having to use a piggy back I get that gut feeling the ultimate would be best. K-pro and alike can kiss my grits!(this only stands until a hondata product works on the a8)

Yea that would be fine by me. With the pinout I can take it to the shop and they can possibly create it while working on the car.

Oh that snot even cool. How about joint custody? You can get it weekends lol. I'm willing to get on a list if it works out, have to pay to play right.

I think it MAY work is what he's saying. I get the impression Bryan/Paul are saying there is a high chance this will work but it will only work for our cars, the same way Chams harness was. HOWEVER because of how much work and time went into it the harness may not be duplicated...correct me if I'm wrong Bryan/Paul. If I'm which I hope I am if this works out and you are 100% sure it will work for the stock a8 and possibly work on auto's consider me number one on that list lol. Keep us posted on this I check this thread almost daily in hopes some day I too can tune for F/I

Anything new on this? I'm watching this topic like a HAWK! If this works I might just throw a party I'm that damn happy lol.
11  K Series Performance / ECU, EMS, & Tuning / Re: Motor/ECU Swap Key Question on: July 03, 2009, 03:34:28 PM
Yea I was told to try and talk to Cham. I sent him an email but I know how busy he is so I'm expecting something back in a few months or so no worries rather do it right the first time then 5 times to get it right. I was kidding about Skippy, from the old forum he has given me more information then I know what to do with, I know if he has something that could even be a possibility he would be more then willing to share. We are all here to share and help out and I would expect nothing but from users here.

Well Skippy lets hear it. I'm open to any and all options out there. This project will be completed lol so any turning info you want to share or have a thought on lets hear it no need to hold out lol.

I would like to be able to use a hondata product believe me! THe only thing I have seen that they have that MIGHT work is the dual adapter harness for the TSX. I have a few things I'm taking a look into, either way the car is going to be done for a while but since I work so close to where I live I should be able to make it happen lol.
14  K Series Performance / ECU, EMS, & Tuning / Re: Motor/ECU Swap Key Question on: June 27, 2009, 03:18:21 PM
Your dead on in your assumption. I have thought about the build or what ever you want to call it for about a year now gaining information and what not. As far as my goals and so forth I have all that together and my AFI k-series kit came in last week so I'm set on that end. The shop I'll vouch for. I have seen some of the stuff they put out and what hey can do these guy are just sick. I was talking to the guy the other day and he said they just finished working on a new Si. He said they where thinking they might try the FI/C and see what that can do. I pm'ed Bryan and he said he would keep me up to date on the process. However would his system even work being his is franked?

Blinx have you been working on another way to hack into the a8? I have the shop I'm using looking into the kpro dual harness idea. See what they can come up with.
