...and some good news from the shop.. (a foreign and strange concept lol) my suspension is fine. I don't need sway bar links, the bushings in the front are cracked but not needed immediately. He said everything was "pretty tight"
going to pick her up now!

Alright, this is my stupid question for the week, what is the technical name for this "nightrider" thing, (that's what I call it) and how do I go about making it stay lit up constantly? Is it as easy as changing the fuse? It seems to react to my foot on the gas, which is weird.

I always thought that's called the upper display unit but I can't find the part number on the Honda parts website. As to why it dims, that sounds like a wiring issue not a fuse issue. If it were the fuse, I'm pretty sure it would light up at all.

Denny, the light dimming may be related to faulty solder joints on the circuit board of that display, at least, that was what mine was. Check out this thread:
http://elitecm.net/forums/index.php?topic=3959.0
Nelson, Clemente posted the part# in there also.

Aw cool. It goes dim, and then black..and then comes on bright. Sometimes if I tap the dash above it, it comes on... circuit boards are a little beyond my DIY level...i'll check out the thread
thanks!

Wow, it's on my list of things to fix
my husband and I are in this "don't buy anything for yourself because xmas is coming" phase.
he won't let me buy any toys
I had my finger on the buy button for a black leather MOMO shifter knob today, but he wouldn't let me get it! Next year,.. retros are one of my goals
i'll let you know

That problem you're having sounds akin to a problem I had with my old truck. Fucking cold solder joints. Denny, you gotta get things on the DL. Don't be showing him what you're getting.
