Title: How to remove old wheel weight adhesive Post by: clapton924 on March 05, 2009, 01:31:48 AM While cleaning up my TL rims today I discovered a method that works well to remove old wheel weight adhesive.
1. Spray WD40 on the old adhesive. 2. Find a round plastic bic pen and pull the head off so you have a little plastic tube. 3. Scrape the hell out of the old adhesive with the open end of the pen body. 4. Wipe with a paper towel and reapply WD40 as needed...will take a couple applications. I tried using a pocket knife first and found it will scratch up the finish. I decided I needed a plastic scraper and the pen was the first thing I found. Simple yet effective. Hope this helps. If you wanna go crazy you could just get a propane torch and clean them up like that haha. |
