Would there be a positive effect if the front bumper weight was removed? I understand it's to keep the front nose down I guess, but is it really needed?

not familiar with any bumper weight but if your referencing the bumper reinforcement, i highly suggest you dont remove it. it is there for a reason to protect you in the event of accident.(obviously) removing it would be plain stupid and i doubt you would notice any performance gains. if there is a bumper weight i'm curious to see what other have to say.

Ah ok. I was talking about that metal block thing you remove when you install a front lip onto the car. I thought that since the front lip would be roughly the same weight as it, the block wouldn't be needed. But if it's an actual bumper reinforcement of some sort, then I would understand.

Stage 1 JDM weight reduction yo!!

All kidding aside, I have removed both of my bumper weights and have had no negative effect.  It may increase the engine vibration you feel in the cabin of your car though.  I think that's the only real negative effect.

Eh, I guess I'll just keep them on to save any trouble, lol. Unless they could effectively take off 1,000 pounds, they're staying. :P

On the first page it shows it. Doesn't look that big, so I guess it must not weigh much.

That one is the really small one on the actual bumper cover.  It only weighs a few pounds.  I thought you may have been talking about the bumper weight inside your actual bumper (not the bumper cover).  That one weighs a lot more.  All in all, it's not going to be a huge difference in weight.
