Big Mouth for the 7th Gen V6

Well, as you guys know I have been building larger displacement ported out engines for our cars which have been providing nice numbers all the way up to 5500 RPM and then would just level out. With all the porting and displacement increases and cams the engines just don't seem to be able to get enough air to continue making power above 5500RPM bue to the restrictions at the throttle body, well I think I found a solution for people staying NA. How about a 80MM throttle body, yes that should flow enough, but one problem the damn DBW system, well I got a solution for that too.
This is going on WorldOn1Finger's J33 soon so we should have some new data soon to see what gains it makes, but butt dyno even on the stock J30A4 in my car says something is there. Alot of boring was done to the intake to open it up to 80MM as well and had to add (weld) to the neck in a couple spots where the metal was paper thin or even cut completely thru. Now that it has been tested and the cable conversion system is working properly and the ECU is happy with it I need to finish port matching the throttle body and send it off to Brett.
Next for this will be a upgrade for the 6th gen AV6/2nd gen CL-TL.

That is quite large compared to stock.

I guess he has money to burn. I'd rather waste my money on parts that actually make my car faster, hookers, and drugs. Fucking amateurs. :

Awesome work Paul. More detail on the DBW to cable conversion. I hate the bad lag of the DBW. 80MM is freakishly huge. Will you able to do something for the CT Engineering SC?

Save that for the special thread, buttpirate, as for this addition to the J33, Paul, we may need to talk cost on this piece at a slightly later date. This may be worth-while for me

You just wish I was talking about you. Don't be jealous. Let's keep this OT. Its too bad you don't put these skills to work on the K series Paul. Or maybe you do?

Paul, I know this is really more of a high RPM Mod to keep the airflow coming in so the motor doesn't level off or even drop back in power above 5,500 RPM, but is there any additional benefits to this in the low-mid engine speeds? better Throttle response? An actual increase in HP or TQ?, or is this just a generally good support modification for use going bigger than 3.0 displacement?

Well according to my butt dyno there definatly was better throttle response and a little something more on the low end with my stock J30A4.

I can and do to a certain extent, but you K guys already have tons of AM support, it's us J guys that are pretty screwed.....
