Thanks man.  Still have to get inspection done and possibly fix any issues that they may find.  Being a short sale, if anything needs to be fixed, we would have to tap into our rehab funds so not out of the woods yet.

So we didn't get approved for the personal loan to fix the dtiveway. we have a few other options we're going to try.

Not surprised, buying a house turns your credit to shit.

Actually our credit is pretty good

Your credit score might be good still but when you sign off on a mortgage your debt to income ratio sky rockets and the chance of creditors approving loans or upping credit limits goes way down.  I'm not saying it is impossible to get one but it is definitely harder.  For good reason too.

Sorry to hear Denny, but what Ike said is so true. DTI ratio for most loans can't be more than 45% and the higher it is the higher the interest.

I get it. But how are you supposed to fix major issues? I doubt the insurance company will cover the driveway lol. We're headed back to the bank this Sat

Got the keys and have been cleaning since. We'll get before and after pic up, ike. Gotta make a home Depot run today for tools and supplies. No more auto parts for a while
