Title: I shouldn't have taken that bumper weight off...
Post by: Jellynuts on March 28, 2009, 10:53:36 AM
haha, only joking, but in all seriousness, I was clipped on an intersection yesterday on the front end, which resulted in this:

I always thought I was a pretty defensive driver, but this absolutely shows that I was not defensive enough. But God is still more than gracious; had I left a few seconds earlier, I would have been T-boned, and I'm sure injuries would have been far worse. The other driver and I both sustained no injuries, got out of our cars, shook hands, exchanged information and waited for the Police to arrive.

Because the airbag deployed, my insurance agent advised that the car is probably a write-off. I am terribly sad about it, and I was just about to drop it and turbocharge it. Thankfully, I had not bought parts for any of those, aside from Milan's one front Koni. But since its in their lot, I don't think I'll be able to part out the few mods I did on it. A small price to pay for being alive.

But... I was just a few months from paying her off. A large price to pay for being negligent yes?

Thanks to everyone here for your expertise and for sharing your wonderful wealth of knowledge. And thank you JT for making me feel especially welcomed here.

I love the K24, so if it ends up being a write off, I think I'll look for a used TSX opposed to an Accord... Considering, my plans for the Accord were to swap for a lot of TSX parts in the first place heh.

Drive safe everyone!

Damn Jon sorry to hear about the car but I am glad that you are in good health. Don't look back and just look for a nice 7 or 7.5th gen Accord to your liking :)

There's always a bright side when something like this happens especially when everyone's ok. You get to look for a new car!

Man it's always tragic to here of an accident but blessed when all parties can walk away from them.
Metal, rubber & plastic can be reshaped & replaced, us being we can not, we take life for granted but yet still we
push foward.
Things like this happen, to you, to me, to others, never let it get you down, search for what your looking for,
it's probably around the corner.
Good Luck.

Hey, it's been a few days since I dropped in.  Thanks for all the blessings and good wishes!

I haven't heard back from my insurance company, but unless I sneak into the impound lot at night and leave the car on cinder blocks, the rims are staying. :P
