Went back to stock intake system for the winter, hope it solves my check engine issue.

Had a check engine P0128 - Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature), changed the thermostat with new oem one. few days later still comes on. So i decided to let it warm up and datalog intake and coolant temp.

Found out that because of the short ram, at idle, as the car warms up the air in the engine bay gets hotter and the iat sees the temperature hotter than it really is.

My theory is that the ecu thinks that the outside air is warm and the engine should warm up faster according to the datas from the IAT and ECT.

Did another datalog today with the stock intake now in place.
I did not expect that :S
The IAT reading is almost the same, just a bit colder through the curve but I doubt the short ram intake was actually the issue.
The check engine light hasn't come on yet tho, It almost always came on when I was parked in the underground parking of my university for a few hours, I'll try that out to see if comes on with the stock setup.

Another thing, damn I miss my short ram sound ! Almost can't hear anything on high RPMs Sad

Received today my PLM TSX header  Cool I am very happy so far, the welds seem pretty decent. Also the fact that the piece after the flex joint is not welded will be perfect to fit a universal catalytic converter in between !
For the price of this header, couldn't be happier.

The header doesn't actually look that bad at all. Can you snap a picture of the inside of the collector please, when you get a chance. Also nice pickup on the bumper.

So here is the pictures of the inside of the merges, they are not perfect, but seems rather good tho. I'll probably use a wire brush on a long stick with a drill to clean the stuff inside there before installing them. Talking of installing them, there is a dude on facebook that tried installing them on his 04 k24a2 auto accord (everybody wants to do the swap since it's now so easy and cheap with ktuner). Anyways, he got fitment issues with the passenger axles rubbing with one of the runners. I hope he has one with a manufacture error and that mine will fit. no ready to convert MT yet and want my exhaust to be done this summer.
