1  K Series Performance / Stock Motors, Transmissions, & Maintenance / Re: Laggy VTEC Engagement? on: January 21, 2013, 11:04:31 PM
yea well I think i kinda jinxed it and im probably experiencing some lag  Cry. Because now when i get to a stop and suddenly accelerate hard passing 2,500 rpms, My car jerks before i even get to 50mph or 3,000rpms. so then when that happens i freak out and let go of the acceleration because i feel like something is going to break. Anyways my car is still stock all i have done is fixed my fans, which now they work perfectly fine and ive also replaced my IACV valve with a barely used one. So the car is working fine except for that jerk it does i cant even speed off ill have to check my oil levels and transmission fluid and if that doesnt work ill also check my vtec filters. Any suggestions you guys?

Yea your right tim but no mommy and daddy dont pay for my parts and they never will this is all coming from my hard work and working mon-fri.! Im not in a rush with my car at all, the only thing im in a rush is repairing my car so that i can get to my job and and back since its the only car i have but i am patient with my car in the fact that i want to learn as i do everything and make my car evolve, im just in a rush to learn all of this and give my car the best so it can run clean, well maintained, with speed and effiency, im like a little kid locked up in a candy store with all this information out here for my 7th gen accord like i said i want to study engineering and maybe someday build my own engine someday and plus i dont even have time since im leaving to bootcamp for the marines in 5 months, but i totally agree with you tim.

but wouldnt the filters go through wear after being there for 145k miles?
5  K Series Performance / Stock Motors, Transmissions, & Maintenance / Re: Laggy VTEC Engagement? on: January 06, 2013, 12:19:26 PM
ill actually save them for another time because my vtec is not laggy yet! maybe later down then road when i add some mods to the car but its nice to know i have these around

wow thats crazy i just found a brand new vtc filter and vtec filter in my garage, i guess i should replace the old ones then

Then i guess i should go with the MT swap, i guess im not being patient enough but you guys do have a good point i should get the MT then. I guess im just going to focus on repairing my car first, then maintenance and then performance and that should later on give me an idea on either getting a SC or Turbo. thanks guys

I'll also post up my profile and pics of my car now even though it's a mess right now it needs work.

oh ok thanks tim your info is really helpful, ill keep doing my research, and im thinking of just going with a turbo since getting the SC i would have to switch my AT to a MT because having a MT in miami is a pain in the ass with all the traffic and traffic lights.

Ohhh and tim can you give me an estimate on how much you spent on all the cooling upgrades and the supercharger so that i can get a clue of how much i would be spending if i agreed on a SC?
10  K Series Performance / Engine and Drivetrain Performance / Re: Comptech SC from TSX fits 7G? on: January 03, 2013, 11:20:12 PM
Wow Tim awesome info thanks!!! that really does help me come to a conclusion, because first i want to make sure my car gets great maintenance and is running smooth for a car with 130,000 miles on it and then start working on the handling and tires and then move on to bolt-ons and then SC or Turbo, so basically i have a lot of time and i am willing to invest atleast 10K on upgrades on it. So then I may be a little too ahead of myself but i just want to know what im getting myself into if i choose either or and i want to know what to focus on first. but i hope i can still do all the bolt ons first before a SC because if i can do all of that as if i were to get a turbo like a SRI, Pulleys, Rsx intake manifold and more then that would be awesome but ill keep doing my research.

and Tim i hope im not asking much but can you unabbreviate the abbreviated mods??? I'm still learning
11  K Series Performance / Engine and Drivetrain Performance / Re: Comptech SC from TSX fits 7G? on: January 02, 2013, 08:19:04 PM
Yea your right! Tim can you give me your opinion?
12  K Series Performance / Engine and Drivetrain Performance / Re: Comptech SC from TSX fits 7G? on: January 02, 2013, 07:37:33 PM
wow that changes my whole perspective on getting a turbo on my AT but i was thinking of switching my AT into MT and also getting the rsx lighter flywheel but that's alot of money of my pocket but it may be worth it though because i am deciding to keep my car for 10 years or more, but a super charger doesnt look bad either but will it give me the same potential that a turbo can give me or even better?? I mean i will do my research but i can you guys give me your opinion? will i be able to keep putting more mods on my car even after the SC?
13  K Series Performance / Engine and Drivetrain Performance / Re: Comptech SC from TSX fits 7G? on: January 01, 2013, 11:43:12 PM
can you guys help dumb it down for me on what is better for an AT accord a supercharger or turbo? because i've been researching on how a turbo and supercharger works, but i'm still confused on what is better?

Wow i havent thought of this. thanks Tim for the vid and the reply back I will try this out this weekend and i'll let you know the outcome.
15  K Series Performance / Stock Motors, Transmissions, & Maintenance / idle going crazy!!! on: December 30, 2012, 03:10:35 AM
Hey everyone,

My name is steven and i have a 2003 honda accord i4 coupe and it is completely stock with 130,000 miles on it, and i've just recently last month had the valve head done since the aluminum got really messed up due to driving my car while it was overheating and so my car lost compression and one day it wouldnt start but now that all that is fixed and my engine is put back together and my car starts perfectly, my problem now is that when i have the car on park and its on idle the cars RPMs go up and down on its own between 1,500-2,500 RPMs i checked to make sure that the intake manifold and my throttle body was put on fine by the mechanic, i also check the air filter and it is also good. I've been doing my research on what it could be and ive learned that it could either be the IACV or i may have air in the system but i highly doubt it since it's not revving randomly but it revs up and down with the same rythem so im thinking the IACV which i will check it out tomorrow. (and no i dont have my foot on the pedal -____-) but can anyone give me any suggestions or has anyone had the same problem? and i looked through this whole forum for maybe any related problems but i cant find nothing.

NOTE: I took apart the engine once when i was going to have the valve head sent to the shop and done since i messed it up due to driving while the car was overheating, and i took the engine apart without any experience or supervision so i took out alot of parts i shouldnt have so that may have something to do with it. (may be something loose??)
