My guess is that you want kpro for your TSX, and now that Hondata doesn't sell their harness any more, you want to see if an Accord harness will work.

...You're good man.

Thankfully, a company from Toronto stepped up to offer something.  http://www.k-tuned.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=20&products_id=207

They haven't started mass producing yet, and if the TSX community doesn't bite, I'm afraid they may pull this off before I gather enough funds Sad

I haven't forgotten.  Smiley

I have a real question I'm leading to...  but I've asked it before, and I can't remember what it is.  Sad

Thanks.  Did you lose cruise control, VSA, or anything?

Hey Tim,  when you did your engine swap, did you swap your ECU as well, or are you still running on an Accord ECU?

Koo, I will wait for his say.

Hey all,

Since I don't drive an Accord anymore, I feel like I don't have much to offer here.  However, there is still a lot of information, knowledge and experience here that I've used for the TSX.  I was about to refer some threads here on tsxclub.net when I suddenly wondered...  are you guys OK with me doing that?

Jon.

Just FWIW, as of a few months ago, Hondata no longer offers KPro for the TSX  Huh?

Duly noted!

Thanks for everyone's advice!

Hey everyone,

I was looking into purchasing a used clutch/fw from someone, but they noticed there's a bit of surface rust on the fw.  Is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks!

Yow!  I haven't been on for a while, but the new look is nice!
11  K Series Performance / Bolt Ons / Re: affordable DBW throttle mod (Adjustable Throttle Controller) on: May 31, 2010, 02:36:43 AM
I don't know how the DBW on Accords feel, but on the TSX, it can be quite unbearable.  The greatest pain is that when the clutch is fully disengaged, the throttle pedal becomes unresponsive.  Rev-matching therefore, is much different than with a cable throttle.

I tried the Sprint Booster (for twice the price; yipes!) in hopes that this would eliminate the DBW feel.  It certainly did make the throttle more responsive, but only when the clutch was engaged.  In fact, DAYTA described on tsxclub.com, it makes the pedal feel like an on/off switch.  The particular unit in the OP has different optional settings, so maybe users can find a good balance, but I found the amount of response the Sprint Booster gave...  well, it didn't feel like a cable throttle anyway.  It just felt like a hypersensitive DBW.

Also, as I mentioned, the throttle was only more responsive with the clutch was engaged.  When it was disengaged, the throttle was once again, unresponsive.

If Honda has made the DBW in the Accords different from the TSX, and it responds nicely when the clutch is disengaged, then this should be a pretty nice mod.  Otherwise, I'm skeptical that these ETC's would perform any different from the Sprint Booster.  These companies claim that their products make the car feel more like a traditional cable throttle.  A more accurate description is, these products make the throttle more sensitive, when the clutch is engaged.

For AT drivers, I think this mod would be fantastic Cheesy  MT drivers may have mixed feelings.

I wrote a DIY and review for anyone who's interested:  http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/1st-gen-engine/42796-sprint-booster-v1-diy-review.html

How do you tell apart an 04-05 IM from 06-08?

By the book:
The 04-05 IM throttle opening has a diameter of 60mm.
The 06-08 IM throttle opening has a diameter of 64mm.

I don't think that will make a difference in performance for the Accord, unless you've bored out your Throttle Body to match the diameter.

A more obvious difference is that the throttle body openings are different between the two.
The 04-05 IM throttle opening has somewhat of a rectangular shape routed out, making it key shaped.
The 06-08 IM throttle opening is a circle.

My question is, what purpose does that key shape on the 04-05 IM serve?  I've noticed this design on the stock Accord IM's, and gaskets as well.

PS.  More info and pics can be found here:  http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/1st-gen-engine/42435-tsx-intake-manifold-mods-4.html#post632040
(The IM with the Throttle body studs is the 04-05, and is in fact, the one that Tim sold me.  You can't tell how clean it is, but heck, that IM's getting famous, Tim!)

Have you considered an Ingalls Stiffy ETD?

Alright, thanks for clearing that up.

My apologies too for getting heated.  I do have a tendency of getting overly defensive.

FWIW, I'm in a phase where I can tolerate the DBW.  It goes in cycles, but since I don't want to overspend on such a project, I think I'll just grab some pulley's and call it a day.

I know that Tim. I was just informing numbnuts of his mistake.

Numbnuts eh?

Merry Christmas to you too.  If TIM wants an apology from me, he can ask for it himself; ban me if you feel that warrants it.  I don't know the rules to this forum.
