Title: Reverse Gear
Post by: Accord1234 on October 23, 2009, 09:26:52 PM
I'm not sure if this a repost, but has anyone made a top speed test in reverse? It sounds stupid but I was reading this article about it.
http://autos.aol.com/article/reverse-gear-speed (http://autos.aol.com/article/reverse-gear-speed)
I mean I've held the pedal down in reverse once or twice but never actaully paid attention to how fast it wold go.

Why? The only way you'd know is if someone was with you or you weren't paying attention to where the hell you were going. Pretty pointless if you ask me.

BTW, the last line in the article says "don't try this at home."

Ummm why the fuck would you even consider this

I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon; what the fuck is wrong with you? Jk, just thought I'd add to the flamefest, but there really is no point.

Maybe there is no point, but then why would someone write a article on it and test it out.

Because they were bored, stupid, and it wasn't their car.

Guy has to write "something" to stay employed. Unless it's a truck or tractor trailer which actually needs some speed and power to reverse in certain situations, this info is pointless in a car.

Good one. How about writing an article on shoving a fork into an electrical outlet? That'd be a good read.

You remember, after they pick up the two cars and race to the impound yard. 'Brian' blows past 'Rome' and spins around on the interstate and goes in reverse, apparantly at hwy speeds and proceeds to flip off Rome.

I'm still here. Can't believe how everyone looks so down on the article. You guys make it like you have never drivin blocks in reverse before. Did't think it was such a touchy topic.

I have never driven blocks in reverse, and would never endanger myself or other to do so.
