So without getting into too much detail, does anyone have frequent experience with major car rental chains?  Namely, places that rent sportier cars like Mustang, Camaro, Challenger and actually have them in their fleet on a regular basis?

I was just offered a mustang convertible at hertz in Vancouver.  I opted for a jeep compass instead. I didn't want to pay for anything else.

I travel for work and almost exclusively rent from Hertz...best selection, best rewards program.  Not the cheapest by far, but definitely the best.

I'm willing to splurge.  I've called a bunch of places, including Hertz, and I'd really like to have access to a newer American muscle vehicle (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger), but these "Adrenaline Series" cars are pretty hard to come by in all of the locations I've looked into.  At most places, the most comparable car they seem to have easier access to are Dodge Chargers.  Is this even a sport / muscle car, or just a boat?  I need something to make my long travels next week a little more fun on some open road.

If it is the v6 Charger I wouldn't recommend it.  My mom has one and it is a bore to drive.

Unfortunately unless you are in Florida or Texas, the Adrenaline series can be hard to come by.  Sometimes they will have one, but if you reserve you they are supposed to make sure there is one there for you.

I randomly got into a HEMI V8 Challenger on a trip to Omaha, NE once, got a V8 Mustang GT convertible in Chicago, and a few other randoms here and there.

Hertz Donut?

Just got this email yesterday too, while we are on the subject:

http://offers.hertzgold.com/GoldPlusRewards.aspx?offerid=13539&langcode=en

Quote
Hertz® is pleased to announce the launch of Hertz Dream Cars®, a unique line of high-end luxury and performance vehicles. Building on a long history of offering uniquely exciting rental cars, Hertz is now upping its game yet again with the most alluring vehicles yet.

The growing model selection includes Ferrari California, Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, SRT Viper, Bentley Continental V8 GT, Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayenne, Porsche Panamera, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

Hertz Dream Cars may be rented at select locations in Florida, California, Nevada, and Arizona with more locations coming soon.

All Hertz Dream Cars are delivered fully detailed and include a personalized welcome and orientation to the vehicle.

I'm sold!  I am thinking these are probably going to cost in at least the thousands per day, with a massive deposit required.

Had a fun road trip across the country.  At first, Hertz graced me with this:

And then this happened:

Because a teenage girl flew across the highway and did this:

So, after some paperwork, Hertz replaced the car with this:

Fun was had by all.   Grin
