So took Link for his appt last night and got the laundry list of things that are wrong with him... the family is split as to what to do with him, he doesn't seem to be suffering, but hes not eating and when hes not a mess he just lays there and doesnt really interact with anyone anyway... mom and I  kinda wanna just end it before he starts to suffer, dad cant decide and my fuckhead of a little brother doesnt wanna do anything and basically told us he would resent us all if we decided to put him down, without actually saying it.  He has been away at school, hasnt been home for... I'd say atleast 3 months, and hasn't seen whats been goin on.  It fuckin sucks, almost to the point where I wish Link would have an episode while he's home just so he can see and maybe change his mind.  Its like he thinks as soon as the problems start we just wanna get rid of em and kill off our dog that we've had for 15 years... like we didn't actually put any actual thought into it at all.  I honestly hate him right now and wish he would go back to school... things at home are SO much better when hes not around.

I've beent there with a pet and it sucks. We went through the same thing your going through but, watching them suffer sucks and we made the decision to put him down. I still miss that dog he was great.

Damn, that is a tough situation Ryan.  Keep your head up though.  When we had to put my dog down last year she could barely walk anymore and it was really hard to watch her suffer like that.  We would literally have to carry her outside so she could go to the bathroom, 90lb labs are not easy to carry.  So we put her down to keep her from suffering anymore. Definitely sucks, but it was for the best.  That's what you have to keep in mind, whatever happens, it's for the best.
