Its not so bad for me, my work week started today and my boss is now trying to persuade* me into a power shift in a different team where I will no longer have to write fucking parking meter tickets. and the power shift would be 10-6 whih would not be so bad, i just would not have a free ride to and from work and I would get an hour of overtime a week for going to court at 0900 on fridays

We all talk a lot about how much stress we have from work and such.. does anyone have a good way of keeping their work stress at work, and not bringing it home?  I could use some pointers so my fiancee and I stop bringing outside stress into our personal lives.

Unfortunately Brian, my work also consumes my life outside of work so I am of no use there...

unrelated, Most of you guys know a thing or two about how stealerships work. The local VW dealer is offering vehicles to City employees at a dollar above invoice and special financing, I think it will be like 1.99% for 60 months or somethign like that but not sure yet. So if a regular person goes in and haggles a dealer down on a car and gets the price down under the MSRP, how does that compare?

MSRP is completely different from invoice.  Invoice is what the dealer paid for the car, MSRP is what the manufactured tells the dealer they should sell the car at in order for them and the sales person to make a profit.  Anything below MSRP is basically the sales person taking money out of their pocket.  I think dealers really don't lose money.

But if you haggle you aren't going to get as low as invoice?

I don't think so.  You're just taking off of the MSRP.  The salesman still wants to take money home.  With the invoice price the salesman doesn't make any money.  The dealer is just getting a car off of the lot.
