Well, I just washed my car myself for the first time in probably about a year. It is 74 and sunny here so I thought I might as well. Over the past few months I have barely been driving my car at all. It pretty much sits in a parking lot 24/7. While washing it I found a good bit more paint damage. I swear it never ends. I can't decide what to do about it. I don't really want to pay to have it fixed since I don't really drive it, but I hate to have it damaged.

Actually Jeff, it was suggested to burn your car. Not blow it up. Granted, the fire will eventually get to the tank and blow it up, therefore achieving the original intent. As for explosives, I wish I had access to some but I don't. Also, I've accepted the fact that I'm going to find chips in the paint everytime I wash my car (once I get back to doing it, of course) since its a daily. Its inevitable. What would irritate me is the deep ass gouge I have on the passenger side from getting keyed last year. Remember that?

Shit happens.  Let's be honest here.  We don't drive show cars.  Most show cars that are perfect aren't driven anyway.  When I say show car, I mean something like this 2006 Ridler Award winner.

I'd be thrilled if all I found were paint chips and scratches. I guess more clear coat was damaged and is just now showing up. It runs from the A pillar to the edge of the quarter panel by the trunk. There is minimal damage on one of the creases on the rear passenger side door. The passenger side of the car is the only part of the car, other than the roof, that hasnt been repainted.

The guy that did that last batch of repainting said it was an inexperienced guy with a buffer. He said that he didn't see any evidence that it had been painted before. I dunno. I just know I'm fucking sick of it.

Ah, right Z, I couldn't remember if it was burning it or blowing it up. I always get pissed when I see a new imperfection. For some reason, there are scratches out that ass behind the door panels, and I don't know why. It's like someone with metal fingernails tried opening my doors.

One thing I really need to do is wash, claybar, and wax my car. I'm starting to see those swirly scratches on my hood and various other places. I just haven't had the time with college.

Bill, that sucks with the clearcoat. You may want to end up repainting the whole car, but then again, since you never drive your car, it's a very tough decision.
