Yeah, that's definitely true.  The tough part about the driving will be that it's in a company vehicle.  No good audio system or power when I need it.  I'd rather not drive my car anyway.  I've already passed 200k on the chassis.

Company vehicle is okay as long as your responsible. You don't have to worry as much about the weather and things like that as much, and keeping the miles off your car if def. a good thing. The biggest plus side is now if you have an issue after making a mod or something you can function without your car because you don' t need it to get to work.

Mike definitely has a good point. That's what I liked about my last duty station. I was on the road a lot and used the "company" vehicles all the time. It was good to get out of the office even if it meant me driving instead of some of the other guys because I didn't trust their driving.

I'm not worried about having a company vehicle because I'm going to be irresponsible.  I just like to have a few creature comforts while being on the road.  Music is the biggest thing for me.  Having my iPod hooked up would be best option, but I doubt that would be possible.  I'm just going to have to suck it up and live without my music.  At least I'll be much happier at what I do.

You are right though.  One of the reasons that this job was so appealing to me is because I had a company vehicle.  That way I won't put any additional wear and tear on my car, so I will be spending less on gas and maintenance.  The other part that I think is great is that I will be able to take my car off the road for mods that I wouldn't normally have been able to do in the past because of time.  After I get settled in my new place I'm probably going to put my car up on jack stands, pull the wheels off, tear out the interior, remove the stereo, do a complete detail on the car, then rewire my stereo, and start building my new trunk set up.  I think I'm going to make a list of crap that I want to accomplish before next summer.  I'm going to be out there for 3 months before Robyn shows up, so I'll have some extra time on my hands that I'll need something to keep me busy.  I might as well spend time with my mistress.
