It's even less fun when you are forced to lose sleep due to shitty neighbors. Had to send the police to their apartment again last night. Got to work and Lori texted me and said they were slamming things against the walls and stomping around and yelling at each other. Fortunately it only takes a short moment for me to build a response. Hopefully that will give the management more drive to evict them.


On a side note, I get two weekends filled with red meat, booze and strippers!

just woke up to hail on the skylight of our roof. Guess winter is gonna be here sooner than I thought. I may have to get the heat going today.

I've already had the heat running.  I hate the cold.  I woke up to frost on the cars that were parked outside.  It's time to add some antifreeze to my water to air system in the Accord so it doesn't freeze and bust something open.

Yeah it's starting to get chilly here, not unbearable though.  It's 55 degrees out and sunny.

It's quite nippy over here too.  I've had the heat on all week.  Can't wait to see what our first heating bill looks like.  The steam radiators are loud as hell, so we got a plumber coming this week to heck out our hearing system and make sure everything is on the up and up.  Today I'm outside caulking Windows.  The old caulk was brittle and dried up.  Fun homeowners shit.

We've used the electric baseboard heat in whichever rooms we're in but that's going to be expensive with temps below freezing. On a sunny day 50 or higher we open the door to sunroom because it gets warm out there use some of that. We got the propane stove going after a thorough cleaning so the blower can work as efficiently as possible. So much cat hair still .

Nelson, I have 1 window to caulk up because I see condensation forming between the panes. I use the spray foam all over outside and in the garage last weekend along with some insulation and Frost King plastic window covers in the basement. We'll see how this winter goes.

It actually snowed here today. A small squall that lasted a minute or so.  and our heat went on today. Dammit!

Rich, if you're seeing condensation between the glass panes then the seal around them has failed. Proper way to fix that is to have the window sash repaired and refilled with argon.  Where I caulked is the point where the actual window frame touches siding.  That way it avoids any air getting in or out.  Try to leave the bottoms free of caulk, that way if water ever manages to find a way in the wall it has a way of actually getting out.
