In my case it's the boxes.  They freeze, the hard drive in one of them is going, and they constantly reboot themselves.  All around, they're garbage.  I'm going to be upgrading my service as soon as my contract expires in a few weeks.

Our cable boxes are shit. We accepted these boxes as a beta test for our service provider in exchange for free stars and show time. The new "Xfinity" on demand is a real hunk of shit.

We switched to Dish a couple months ago and while the Hoppers are great... I uses Wi-Fi instead of the cable lines like DirecTv did and it sucks up our Wi-Fi and slows everything else down. Sad

When I had my apartment, we had direct tv. I hated it, it stormed and left us without power. Plus my roommate had arrested the guy above us' girlfriends before we moved in there so I think he fucked with our satellite.
