No there's a huge movement of people who are anti social media..i met some of them a few weekends ago, no emails, no myspace, no social media...they said people buy and bid for our information..

I don't have fb. I choose not to because I really don't want people from my past (ex. high school) to find me. I also want to stay away from all the stupid family drama in my family and my wife's family. The people that matter in my life know where I am and how to get a hold of me. I had MySpace in the past, and it was pointless. There were people that I never talked to in high school that would add me as their friends. There was nothing beyond that. No attempt to find out how I was or what I was doing with my life, even after I made the effort to reach out to them. It just seems so superficial to have so many "friends" that you could care less about and that don't give a shit about you either.

I got it in college cause it was what everybody was doing and then kept it after to keep in touch with some people.  Now its pretty much just for funny pictures.  Lol

I have a facebook just to keep in touch with few people out of the country since I like it better then Skype and read news on sites I like that otherwise be blocked at work

This is exactly how I feel.  Too much drama and dumb shit on these sites.

A lot of my friends in MA tried to pressure me into creating a fb account. They used the argument that I would know what's going on and could keep in touch. I told them that I can rely on my phone for that.

That's my point:

I have a house phone, cell phone, multiple email addresses, a home address, I can get text messages, etc.

That's 7 means of contacting me right there, if you're too last to send me a message then why would I want you in my life. You obviously don't care enough.

My mom has become a Skype freak! Every holiday get together we have to Skype with family out west. Lol
