Oil Change Question
«

Need some advice on this one...
Since Summer of 2010 my car has been a summer only car, it has sat in the garage during winter 2010-2011 & 2011-present. I make sure to go out, start it up, and let it warm up, test the lights, etc. at least once a month just to avoid letting it sit idle for too long.
The last time I changed my oil was in July 2010, and I used Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Extended Performance which is supposed to be guaranteed for 15k miles between oil changes. Since then, I have only put about 8k on the car during the summer of 2010 and 2011 and it has all been casual driving.
My question: Even though I have barely driven half of what the oil is guaranteed for, because it has been so long should I change the oil this spring before I take the car out again?
Thanx in advance!

In all honesty I would probably change it once a year.

I use Mobil 1 EP too and I don't pay attention to that 15k crap...I like to be on top of making sure my engine has fresh oil. The most I'll push the oil is 10k with a filter change at 5k. But in your case yes I would do a filter and oil change. I like to do a change quarterly.
